Every child should have the chance to run feral in a safe outdoor environment, play in streams, climb trees, swing on ropes and make new friends and Dernwood is a perfect setting for this. We stayed in the main field, a short distance from the carpark and main wash blocks - top tip #1: bring bungee cords or rope and...

I've been going to Dernwood Farm for years now and every year it seems it has something new. Last year I stayed in the amazing safari tent with a group. This time, as it was a romantic birthday getaway (or escape) from the kids, we went for the new addition, the Wagon. Wow! It's like leaving the modern world behind...

We stayed for three nights in the Safari Tent with two children aged 5 and 7. The tent was very clean and spacious with everything we needed. Plenty of heat from the wood burner so nice and cosy. The beds were really comfortable and the cabin bed was a big hit with the kids. The woods were beautiful, full of...

I have just returned from a stay at the Safari tent with my family and friends. I had stayed before with girlfriends so excited to bring my young family. It is such an adventure staying in the safari tent. You have your own area with 2 rope swings and plenty of space to explore. Inside the tent it has a...

Had a wonderful 4 day break in a bell tent. Owners couldn't help us enough from advice about pubs to map lending. As stated there are only three rules- no music via speakers (our daughter bought her guitar and had fun by the camp fire), no foraging for wood and no cars in the woods (so kids can run around...

We visited this site as a friends and family get together. The first time camping for many in our group. One of the reasons for visiting this site was because they allow camp fires. One of the members brought some wood with them for kindling and another purchased some from the shop - with some steak. As the sun started...

Thanks for your review which I can only assume is revenge for you all being banned from ever camping with us again as per my text to your group organiser on Monday. You have been banned for the following reasons: We received a complaint from another group of campers on Saturday night that there was musing being played in the...

This place is absolutely everything I hoped it could be and more. Amanda and Emma were fantastic right from my pestering then with emails, to checking us in and more. If you want luxury camping where you can park your car next to your tent and pump your beds up from the cigarette lighter then go elsewhere. However, if you...

We came here for a friend's reunion and stayed in the safari tent. The location was fantastic. A 2 minute walk from the car park. The shop was adequate and had everything that we needed, although we brought quite a lot of items with us and did not require much else. The lighting was very good with Victorian oil lamps...

Daughter & I treated my friend & son to a glamping experience for her 40th and had a brilliant time. The cabin is amazing and Amanda kindly allowed us come for just the one night (normally 2 nt min) which worked perfectly. Who wouldn't love a cabin with a wall that turns into an outside patio! You are completely in...

This was our second visit to little dernwood and I can honestly say it was brilliant!! Amanda was great, beyond helpful and made us feel very welcome!! I cannot understand why people would post negative comments on here, if you don't want to participate in Wild camping then don't come here, it's really simple!! Everything (including the walk) is on...
