The soup was served with a warm crusty roll and butter. The Steak in the Steak pie was so tender and tasty.Enjoyed it so much returned the next day. The young man...

On entering the pub. We were told we could eat either side of the bar. ie public bar side or hotel. We sadly chose public bat side. Food ordered And made too pay before food arrives. Not a good start, as fat as I'm concerned. But waited for the food. And more. Then the locals started with every swear word...

I'm going for the negatives, for starters:the County Hotel is in a prime position but, inside, has a rather tired feeling about it. The lamp shade, just above our table, seemed to be a gathering place for flies. Am aware that they can be abete nor in seaside towns but, nowadays, would have thought an anti-fly spray could have kept...

We live in Edinburgh and often take the train down to North Berwick as it's a great little town. Sunny day today and both off work so headed down for a visit. Decided to have lunch at the County Inn, the menu looked good and it was well priced. The restaurant area is set up near the Hotels reception desk...

What a lovely meal, but, the service was very slow due to under staffing, on any Saturday night you'd expect anywhere to be busy, the pub side had about 10 in, the restaurant had 4 tables booked, there only seemed to be one person serving, for this I'd say that you need at least 3 staff on

The website says that the locals hangout in their pub. Unfortunately the local we encountered was a big smelly one eyed drunk who would not stop touching my wife. It was hot when we stayed there so we slept with the window open only to be annoyed all night by the squawking seagulls. Breakfast food was fine but they were...

We ate at the County Hotel on a very busy Sunday afternoon, we were warned that it may take a while because they were so busy, thank goodness we waited, what a lovely meal we had. The gammon steak was excellent and my other half enjoyed the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner, thankfully we didn't have starters since the...

This is the second time I've stayed at the County Hotel, and as a basic budget hotel it is fine. This time I was part of a golfing party and the choice of venue was largely based on my previous experience when staying here. The rooms are clean and well presented, the staff friendly and helpful. A good bar makes...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the Heart of North Berwick, The County Hotel is a fantastic place to stay when visiting the area. With its 10 bedrooms it is large enough to accomodate groups but small enough to maintain it's friendly traditional seaside hotel style atmosphere. We think you will love it here as many of our guests return. The locals also frequent the bar and restaurant areas contributing to the hotels friendly atmosphere. ... more   less
