Stayed in room 214, directly above the ball room loud music still going now at 5 past midnight. Perhaps hotel should think if guest not at the party don't put them in a room above the ballroom. Not happy as no one on reception to complain to. Never will I stay here again!!

The hotel is beautifully maintained both inside and out. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely new bathroom. However our room was situated nearest to the lift and we could hear noises coming from the lift shaft during the evening but this subsided during the night. The cleaners were out and about quite early and found them to... More

We recently visited the Dukes Head on a groupon deal, £99 for a double room with afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast. My sister and her partner also bought the same groupon deal and we arranged to meet there. We were given a voucher when we arrived to get our cream tea although we didn’t have it as we thought we... We booked Hotel on location and looks ! It looks great inside and reception area. However stay was spoilt by functions in ballroom going on past midnight (12.10) on both nights of our stay. Music was very loud on both nights. On the first night I rang reception at about 11.30, but could get no answer. When I spoke to... More

Had a good weekend food was lovely. The negatives were the afternoon tea we stood at the bar for 20 minutes to order this due to 2 people ordering cocktails seemed to be more people standing around then serving. We had the tea brought to our table after 10 minutes and there was no tea bags in the pot. This... More

A two night stay of Dinner, Bed and Breakfast was very good indeed. The Twin room we had on the third floor, was warm, clean and comfortable. It had a good size walk-in shower. Toiletries were provided along with thick white towels. The food was fine, not haute cuisine but perfectly acceptable, as we were a coachload of 50 people.... More

I stayed here, with my husband, as part of a business trip. We stayed in the Vancouver Suite and were impressed by the presentation and cleanliness of the room. We are lunch in the lounge bar and found the service and food to be excellent! On the whole, very friendly staff and we'd stay there again.

This place is decorated as if it's high class. The hot drinks are £2.00 more than most other establishments. The food is similar cost as most. However, considering the decor, you expect food to be freshly, individually, cooked meals.Think again. It is not.It is basic, frozen, prepacked rubbish, same as your average cafe.Chips are fries, just frozen and heated. They're not freshly prepared chips, as...
