The hotel, location, customer service, food, quality of sleep were great. We enjoyed everything, especially after such long break due to lockdowns. We were happy not to think about covid any longer and we thank the staff for that. However, we received the parking ticket. No one made us aware of limited parking outside the hotel. This kind of ruined our stay that we so enjoyed.
A refurbishment which has changed the building into an excellent, quirky hotel. We stayed in the Purfleet room recently for four nights. Everything about the hotel was amazing. The room is large but still cosy, the bed is so comfortable and we loved the china cups and coffee machine provided, such an improvement on instant coffee and mugs. The food was superb, freshly cooked breakfast a lovely way to start each day. Dinner was excellent and prices compared very well to other places close by. All of the staff were professional and so friendly. Highly recommend.
Have just stayed at this wonderful hotel in the Purfleet room. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated with five star service. The room was stunning, large clean and a better nights sleep than we get at home. The food was amazing and breakfast was 100% Every single member of staff was a delight to speak with, they were interested in their guests and made our stay really enjoyable. We will be back very soon because of the service received! Thank you!
In normal times I'd have no hesitation giving this hotel a 5* rating. The place was scrupulously clean and the rooms were well equipped and really lovely. Cooked breakfast was about as good as it gets and while it was a decent plateful, it didn't leave me feeling bloated. Add to this views over the Ouse and this is hard place to beat. The negatives apply to COVID - the room key arrived with a bottle of hand gel attached - that seemed good, except....the bottle was empty and that seemed to sum up the hotel's approach to COVID which seemed to be that for them the pandemic was over. No extra ventilation - no windows or door left open to encourage airflow. The restaurant was packed in the evening with no distancing between tables or waiters wearing masks - we ate elsewhere. Breakfast was the same with lots of tables packed into a small room when there was plenty of space in adjoining rooms - seemed to make no sense. Friends of ours, despite being double vaccinated caught COVID recently at a hotel on Southampton - they'll never go there again. All organisations who serve people should be going the extra mile to make everyone feel secure - The Bank House didn't get anywhere near on that - so sorry guys but only 3*s because of this…
1. The King's Room. Wonderful! What a brilliant room. 2. History and ambience combine to make a stay at the Bank Hotel 'special'. Overlooking the old historical wharf and dining in Bank restaurant made our stay unbeatable by any standards.
