Stayed for a single evening, but will certain consider coming back for a longer stay. The staff quite simply could not do more to accommodate our children (3 and 1), with such an amazing attitude to customer service. The hotel itself is grand. It doesn't have the most modern features, the floor boards creak and the rooms have actual keys....

We spent 3 nights here with children aged 7 and 10. What a great place for a family break. We cycled, swam and played tennis and croquet. We ate most meals here. The children played in the "older kids" room, but not much as the weather was nice and we spent a lot of time outside. The library living room...

Awesome! Staff amazing, Four Bears Den amazing, dining amazing! My room was beautiful and the listening in service for my toddler worked a treat. I have been here at least six times and will be back again and again. We save to come here! Love it xx Meli Hallam

We stayed here on a Secret Escape break and would definitely go again. We had Mollys room and it was excellent with a very large bathroom. The view from our window was of the gardens. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I was lucky enough to have two lone swims which pleased me immensely!! Food was...

Just stayed the night at this hotel. Room - luxurious, food -5*, staff - very friendly and efficient.. Lovely hotel set in the grounds of the National Trust's Ickworth House so you can enjoy walking in their gardens including the wonderful Stumpery. Yes, they do cater well for children but their is an adult only restaurant if you want a...

Although the public spaces are pleasant and the food good, the service level at this hotel was very poor, especially given the price tag. Also, unless you like being surrounded by lots of tiny children, take your business elsewhere..... there's 'child-friendly' and then there's the Ickworth! We stayed in three hotels last week - this is the one we will...

Dear Lis365, I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience with us at The Ickworth. I would be grateful if you could contact me directly at the hotel to discuss your feedback? Kind regards, Faye

Making this a 'family friendly' luxury hotel allows the chain to charge exorbitant rates. Basically, you are paying for a two hour crèche a day, and some kiddie touches like toys around, and the allowance to allow kids to run riot in a posh hotel, as everyone else has kids. However, at almost £300 a night for b and b,...

We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Ickworth hotel, it was the most amazing hotel for children, with lots of facilities. The room was really nice, with lovely views from the windows, plus the staff were very helpful. We will be back, we loved it!!! Already looking to book again.

We had been planning this celebration of both my wife's and my 70th birthdays for nearly a year and so it had very high expectations to live up to, especially as it involved ten people in three generations of the family and an age range of 69 years! That the weekend did live up to these expectations was due partly...

We have stayed here 5 or 6 times now, and our recent stay was the best yet. They have listened to feedback from guests, and the food and service are much improved. Big thumbs up to the staff, especially Adam the sommelier who is a great guy. The best thing about the Ickworth is the grounds... the amazing walled garden,...

The East Wing at Ickworth was home to the Hervey family before it passed to the National Trust. The surroundings are as grand as ever but the idea that “children should be seen but not heard” has gone right out of the hundred or more windows. Where else can you go that offers luxurious surroundings, outstanding facilities, exquisite cuisine and family friendly activities? Ickworth is unique. It's also one of the finest luxury family hotels in the UK.we have recently added a Cinema room to our facilities and show children's films every day. ... more   less
