Nice enough food and very good for families with small children. But shocking service for such an expensive place: slow, lack of attention, sullen at times. I wouldn't bother to go back unless family really wanted to.

Hotel is leased from the National Trust and is on the Ickworth estate. Imposing building with old style but very comfortable rooms. Our bathroom was huge. Tasteful furnishings throughout. Would appear to be orientatated towards family's, with child care provision. Lots to see and do including the on site swimming pool and free bicycle use. Good spa options. Food a...

This hotel could be summed up as an upmarket child-focused hotel (I would not recommend it for couples without children). The facilities for children are great. The grounds are lovely for walking or using the free bikes. The bedroom that I had was very nice with a lovely bathroom. The lounge and children's playroom are good. The restaurants and food...

Lovely classical hotel in a building leased from the National Trust, dog friendly, (except restaurant). We stayed with our 2 dogs , a lurcher and a pomchi. Very good meals, and formal service in the restaurant. More relaxed in the lounge , but efficient and friendly staff. Very spacious family room with very good ensuite, and ideal for the dogs...

Lovely stay at the Ickworth for 3 night Christmas package. All food and drinks included, a very chilled out atmosphere with lovely food, beautiful decorations, great service and of course the gorgeous grounds to walk and cycle in - perfect. Great value compared to other Christmas packages we have experienced and also were looking at this year. The rooms could...

Stayed recently for a lovely two night / three day pre-Xmas break. Lovely food, excellent service and child friendly atmosphere. Took full advantage of the pool, children's club and walks and activities in the nearby National Trust estate.

We have just returned from our two night stay at the Ickworth hotel, we were thoroughly spoilt, the staff were friendly and very professional and we will definitely be back next year. On arrival we were given our key and went to our room where a complimentary bottle of fizz was waiting along with chocolates and a card. We had...

We have just returned from a lovely stay here. We booked using an offer for NT members - one night stay, cream tea on arrival, two course dinner and cooked breakfast, all for two people at £139. We enjoyed it very much. The hotel has a general relaxed atmosphere which we appreciated much more than some stuffy old place. We...

A special Christmas treat, afternoon tea in a special place. The venue is beautiful, but lacking in any sort of atmosphere. The food was good, scones warm and tasty. However, I had to request hot water with my tea, and there was no attempt to bring fresh tea . Probably the real let down was the fact that the waitress...

We chose The Ickworth Hotel for our wedding on 15 November 2016 because it provided everything we needed. We only had six adult guests and a two year old but the Library was a lovely relaxed setting for the service and the Conservatory was perfect for the celebration lunch afterwards. We were even lucky enough with the weather to be...
