We went on a groupon deal and have no complaints whatsoever. Food was great so we stayed again for our second evening meal. Hotel is in a great area for exploring too. Swimming pool is great. I can understand though some peoples concerns over the owners attitude. We did witness a couple of moments where he could have been a... More

Stayed here last Thursday as part of a golfbreak in association with Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club. Check-in very efficient and the room was the biggest I've ever been in with loads of teas, coffees & biscuits. Had a swim and spent some time in the spa and it was great. Evening meal was again very good and from there we... More

This is a good value hotel, and very handy for Kirby Longsdale, the lakes and great walks. The rooms were good and clean and there is a swimming pool as part of the complex. Towels for swimming are charged extra, which is a bit unusual for a hotel. Also the reception staff could do with smiling when they greet guests!... More

Having booked into this hotel needing somewhere to stay whilst in between homes, it was important that we found somewhere that would take 2 very well behaved Labradors.Having stayed 2 nights all was well, the staff were good generally and we were having no problems. On the 3rdnight it all changed when we met The OWNER. Coming back into the... More

This is a lovely hotel in an ideal location, with a gorgeous swimming pool, sauna etc., but the food varied in quality - we ordered pea & ham soup, which had no pea or ham in it, but which the chef, when challenged, asserted was pea & ham - and then it was on again the next night! It wasn't that... More

We found three big bonuses to staying at this small, family run hotel just outside Kirkby Lonsdale - helpful, friendly staff, a superb chef and a large swimming pool and leisure centre. Would recommend the package which includes the welcoming afternoon tea on arrival.

We recently stayed at the hotel on a Groupon deal. The room was very basic with a toilet seat which should have been replaced years ago. at 5.15 the water was cold and I had to have a cold shower. The bar area was cold ( no log fires for us!) and when we went to go into the restaurant... More

Myself and my partner recently stayed at the whoop hall after booking a groupon deal. We opted to stay on a Sunday and Monday night as we wanted a cheap break and didn't want to pay the £20 surcharge for weekend nights. I had read a few negative reviews after booking and had a few concerns but I didn't need... More

Like some of the other reviews on here we visited this hotel using a Groupon voucher last weekend and were made to feel very unwelcome! After several emails regarding our booking which included a meal on one night only, on our arrival we were told that we had missed our FREE meal. When I explained that we had emailed reception... The swimming pool is closed to children after 6pm and my son who had waited all day for a swim went to our room crying, while I promised him a film via the internet....that was another false promise...the "free" wi-fi is not free - they charge you £4 per day to use it! When I approached the owner regarding swimming... More
