Cosy hotel that deliberately has kept the old fashionable style of back in the days. Small but functional bathroom with shower, luckily with underfloor heating. Nice touch with the old style appliances in the bathroom. They have a miniature private relax/spa for reservations only but no in-house pool or gym. You may go swimming in the lake 100 m from... I have been here many times and its a wonderful location. The hotel is more then 100 years old. You could feel the atmosphere in the walls. Now is the restaurant back to a top standard again. Very tasty food. Sit down in the bar area before dinner is a recommendation. I like the hotel, staff and the whole area.

The lounge is relaxing, the restaurant has Great Lake views. Fish (pike) excellent and good breakfast. Star of this hotel is the bedroom quality: fantastic bed, great views, good (vintage style) shower, lots of nice touches. e.g. full shoe-shine kit. Like another reviewer said, now planning a return trip with my partner as the overall stay is excellent.

I had no expectations when I arrived and the outside and entrance gave me a bad first impression. Entering the lobby was also without any special "wow" experience regarding a 5 star hotel. Everything was in an old fashioned style but still modern. The food for lunch and dinner was fantastic and the staff as well. But when I entered... More

We enjoyed the stay and we will certainly come back. The team is very friendly and well informed. The afternoon tea is a perfect start of the stay. The lounge area where its served is a cool and relaxing area. Dinner is served in the dining room, on white linen and in a very silent, almost sacral, ambiance that reminded... More

Stayed one night in April with a group of eight to celebrate family member's birthday. Afternoon tea, three course dinner and breakfast were all fantastic. Rooms were clean and cozy and the whole hotel has a really nice feel. Service was great and the location by the lake is just perfect.

I have never been too keen on statistics and maths, but Sigtuna Stadshotell shows well, how mean scores and standard deviations work... This is one of the strangest and, therefore, one of the most difficult places to review I have ever been to. My final rating (3) is the average of many '1s' and many '5s'. Let's start with the... Sigtuna Stadshotell has been around in its present form for quite a while. They started with the "cool scandinavian upper touch". And they've kept it - can you believe? The outside is nothing, besides the position near the water (and the nearness to the Sigtuna town "dollhouse"). The inside is nearly an overkill of smooth, elegant Scandinavian design. Grey walls,... We treated ourselves to an Afternoon tea at Sigtuna. They do this on weekdays and Saturdays, not on Sundays. There are three sittings, 12 o'clock, 14 o'clock and 16 o clock. I was a bit put off at first seeing how I had to book a month in advance to get the desired time for us (14.00) but if you... More

The hotel breathes quality and style from the moment you step inside the doors. The afternoon tea is delicious and nicely balanced between sandwiches and cakes/cookies. The dinner was quite nice and well put together, but nothing mind-blowing.
