My wife and I spent one night at Ioana Hotel in Sinaia, this year in January. Location The hotel is situated in a pretty nice quiet place, beautiful landscape, quite far from the town center, which was good. Room When we entered the room, we had that feeling it wasn’t quite what we expected from a 5* hotel room. And the more we looked around, the stronger we felt that way. For instance, we had been in 4* hotels before that were higher class than this one. Anyhow, it seemed to be a decent 3* room. We said to ourselves “they gave us a lower standard room because we would be here only for a night” but…the price was for a 5*, right? We took only one picture, as initially we weren’t really into putting out any review...after we checked out, looking back at the whole experience, we realized that we should have probably taken a few more pics. In the pic posted here, it’s the wall where the bed was against and where it was some kind of a leak that stood the test of time :)))….; in no case that room in particular was subject to renovation lately. I dont know for other rooms...Again, the overall look wasn’t of a 5* or in line with the fancy presentation on the website. Dinner That was just fine and as per our satisfaction, against a proper French Riviera price though… We had a pretty frugal dinner that consisted of two whiskeys, a starter for two and two steaks and sparkling water. No desert, no wine, no coffee. It was worth of 617 RON, go figure… Breakfast We went down for breakfast the next day and we were shocked to see how poor the breakfast was....again, you get that 5* thing stuck in your head versus the reality that wakes you up...yes, the breakfast was really poor, cold oily eggs, cold sausages / hot dogs etc. It made us think of a "no name" 2 stars hotel at the Black Sea… Conclusion: Upon checkout we expressed our feelings to the reception personnel and they were pretty receptive, assuring us there had just been some management changes which would lead to quick improvements, which sounded encouraging and we appreciated that. Most likely we wouldn't intend to drop by again to this hotel checking out whether those claimed changes have been put in place or not in the meantime, but however, our short stay was a true disappointment. The only 5 stars aspect was the price. Overall review: Room 3*, very good dinner but overpriced, breakfast – a disaster. One overnight + dinner = 1,330.47 RON. When you call yourself 5*, you have to provide for 5*.…
We are pleased we have got across Ioana Hotel in December 2019. Since then we often return as it offers a very relaxing stay. The staff is going above and beyond. The location is great, the food is exquisite. All in all it deserves the extra money for the extra services. Well done and don’t stop here. Always keep improving. Eva
Ioana Hotel is really a 5 stars hotel. It is located in quiet surroundings, in Sinaia. Roomvery nice styled and fully equipped. Forest restaurant haș a very nice vibe and the food is very tasty. For both, hotel and restaurant, the staff is fast and courteous. I highly recommend and we are comming back.
The property is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Reception staff fast and courteous. Very nice rooms, all covid measures applied. Good breakfast. Tea and coffee available in the room. The bar in the lobby is wonderful, large variety of drinks.
It was truly an amazing place, the staff was great, the breakfast excellent - the restaurant in the middle of nature with the singing birds created a fairytale atmosphere. I will definitely come back here!
