After making a booking for one night in Gleeson's Townhouse with Eamonn I was really looking forward to our stay due to his natural hospitable manner on the phone. However when we arrived the Townhouse seemed to be a little bit under pressure with the young girl checking us in unable to locate our key. The room itself was fine,...

Dear A Codd . .First of all I want to apologise for your disappointment with breakfast service on Monday morning. You are correct. It was chaotic .Literally what happened that morning was a classic version of Murphy’s law .”If it can go wrong it will go wrong “ Our supervisor fell on the way to work at 8.30 am ,...

We arrived late at night and were exhausted. They set out tea and scones for us, no charge. Very comfortable room. Very warm and welcoming. Great food in the morning. Great location to see the town and surrounding areas.

We stayed as a family of 4 very last minute and the man we dealt with was extremely friendly, chatty and knowledgable of the local area. The guest house is lovely with a gorgeous open fire. We attended a christening here and the food was lovely and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere and is in the...

What I thought was going to be a nice snack turned into an amazing well cooked meal for me and the family , fresh salmon that melted in my mouth but I love fish and this was a great lunch for me and for desert a traditional bread & butter pudding with custard with strawberry cream and lightly dusted with...

Gleesons townhouse and restaurant in Roscommon main street is well worth a visit. The staff are friendly, professional, the menu is ok..slightly limited but freshly prepared and cooked.Fresh homemade soup daily. The old world feeling of the place captured me.The open fires were kept well stocked up and the armchairs around the reception area were a nice touch.

After a very disappointing experience in another establishment in roscommon my partner and I thought we'd give Gleeson's a go as the Easter Sunday menu really caught my eye. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly smile snd shown to our seats. From observation it was obvious all staff were well trained and enjoyed work. Our waitress had short...

It's the only place to stay in town as it's central. Beautiful garden. Very pleasant. Suites are lovely. However service is desperate and tables need to be cleaned off much faster. Also if sitting outside its very hard to get served and its very irritating to have to keep going in. Also I had to carry my own tray of...

I loved this place! Perfectly situated in the heart of the town, with a lovely courtyard, a cozy lobby, and beautiful rooms. Mary and Eamon were warm and welcoming, made us feel like family. And the food was phenomenal -- definitely a place worth visiting even if you're not spending the night. I would absolutely stay here again.

A really friendly welcome at Gleesons in the centre of a bustling and interesting Roscommon town. Great touches with a turf fire warming the welcoming lobby. Comfortable bed and really good food. Not to many places give you a complementary coffee and home made scone on arrival. Recommended.

Aside from forgetting to pick me up at the train, everything was terrific because of the friendliness and attention I received. The food was fantastic with ample portions that tasted great. I will return here on any future visits to Roscommon.
