We stayed there for one night only, but I would stay there for longer. Little gem in peaceful location with the view of ruins of the abbey. We got room on the ground floor and that was handy. The room was a little bit outdated, but there was everything you need. Staff in the bar is very nice and helpful,...

Stayed here and was disappointed with aspects, that should not be for a hotel of this standard. For one, we had barely any hot water. Totally unacceptable. I found a hair in my breakfast. This turned me off eating it. I raised my complaints with the manager, who apologised and said if we ever returned again, they would look after...

My fiance and I spent a night at the Abbey Hotel last month and as much as I was advised beforehand to arrive with an empty stomach, I still was not prepared for how delicious, hearty and comforting the food was. We ate in the award-winning bar restaurant and sat watching fellow guests and locals mill around us for the...

I was very disappointed with our trip to the Abbey. Having read that it had (somehow) achieved a 4 star rating my hopes were high. Old musty bedspreads, threadbare towels, uncomfortable mattress, loads of screw holes all over the wall in the bathroom and a very poor breakfast meant that we were quickly disappointed. The venue is seriously run down...

The hotel is very run down and would leave you questioning how a 4 star rating could possibly have been achieved. Old bedding, threadbare towels, screw holes all over the walls in the bathroom, very poor breakfast are just some of the bad points. Such a shame as the exterior of the building is lovely. I wouldn't recommend if you...
