Let me start with a positive that we had a very enjoyable extended family night in Bellinter House for a birthday celebration. Our room was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. However, the common areas are in need of a refurb or at least a good lick of paint. While the service was very friendly and helpful is was...

This hotel is a lovely mix of old and contemporary. The long drive ends with your first view of this impressive building surrounded by some fabulous old trees. The drawing room features an intriguing blend of traditional furnishings and contemporary artwork. Go next door into the small bar and on the wall you can see a fine specimen to tempt...

My husband and I purchased a "groupon city deal" voucher for this hotel. Very reasonably priced. We loved our stay. We upgraded to a room in the main house at an additional cost and we are so glad we did. We stayed in the Bridal Suite and it's stunning. The decor is quirky and that's what makes Bellinter such a...

Dear DellBell, Thank you for your recent visit with us in the Main House. I'm glad you got to stay in one of our original Georgian Rooms as they are a real treat. You are right, to stay here during the Winter period is always nice with the roaring open fires, Georgian Shutters closed and the House by candlelight, hence...

This was one of the nicest, most romantic, fantastic places I have stayed in. No, its not perfect, although that does depend on what your interpretation of perfect is. The room we had was in the main house and was just so spacious and luxurious. The en-suite, you could play basketball in, just fabulous. The infinity pool....amazing and then to...

Dear Iknowfr8food, Thank you for your recent review and sharing your positive experience with us online. I am delighted to hear you had a great time with us and had the chance to experience all of the facilities that we have to offer. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as they say so we try to ensure...

I have reconsidered my favourite place in the world after I stayed here. I have to say, from check in, to winding our way out of the drive at Bellinter, we felt at home. I love the way the house is maintained 'as is' showing its age and previous use as a family home and convent, rather that dressing it...

Dear MauveMountain, Thank you for your recent feedback regarding your stay with us and thank you for taking the time to highlight the positives from your stay including the décor of this Old House which has recently been highlighted by everyone. Bellinter House is a very very special place. We chose to have our wedding reception here in August 2013, and it was one of the best decisions we ever made. We are still buzzing from how well our day here went - it really was perfection! A wonderful house, wonderful staff and wonderful food. A big thank you to Lorraine,...

Like other reviewers, I had high expectations of Bellinter, so I can't help thinking the whole experience would have been much better if their prices were more reasonable. They charge the same as some luxury 5-star hotels but are just not of the same standard. If they dropped their prices I think they'd get a lot less negative feedback. I...

Dear PillowHappy, Thank you for your recent visit and I am sorry to hear that the décor of the House was not to your liking. I can assure you that the 'mismatched and cheap' décor you speak of is quite the opposite and the artists who have created these unusual pieces would be somewhat offended, however, this can be a...

I stayed here with my partner for my 30th Birthday and it was nothing but unpleasant. Having found the hotel online, I was drawn to the room with the copper bath. I emailed reservations and specifically requested that room, was duly promised that room and so made the booking. Upon check-in , I was told that the room had been...

Dear Conor O, I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with your stay with us at Bellinter House. I am pleased to note that since your visit with us in 2012 there have been some general maintenance and cosmetic improvements to the House over the past year but the structure of our Main House does and will remain the...

We just came back from a weekend at the Bellinter House, that was recommended to us by a friend. Saying that I will never ever go back there is not enough! The price is way too high for the type of leisure facility and SPA. Both are outside the main house, meaning that if it's freezing cold like last saturday...

Bellinter, General Manager at Bellinter House, responded to this review

Dear Comelecalze, I am disappointed to hear about your experience with us at Bellinter. The House was built in 1750 and as a protected building, modern conversions could only be made to separate buildings, hence our Spa & Leisure facilities are located off a small courtyard from the Main House but this can be connected via The West Wing. While we...

We recently stayed here with our two little girls and my sister. We stayed in the stables which had plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable. Food was great and staff were lovely and genuinely friendly without being "grovelly". Great pool and beautiful setting on lovely grounds and plenty to do nearby.

Bellinter House selected in the top new Hotels in the world by the Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2007. Quote from Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2007 review: "Huge original fireplaces and antique mirrors ... mesh with original designer furniture and quirky lighting in the atmospheric Drawing Room.
