We absolutely loved this place. The Salmon fishing was a terrible, which was entirely down to the weather and probably our lack of skill, but the Hotel and its tremendously friendly and helpful staff more than made up for the lack of fish. The food was excellent, breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner were all exceptional, but it was the staff...

Had the pleasure of staying here with my wife the weekend before last and thoroughly enjoyed it . We were greeted at the door of a magnificent old country house by a springer spaniel which was a good start in my book . The staff were nice and we were shown to our room . The room itself was a...

Consistently one of the best restaurants we visit every year. Always a great menu balancing fine dining and excellent service. An exceptional wine cellar and snug setting. If you are lucky you may see afresh salmon grace the reception if any if the guests stile it lucky on the Newport river. Plan your visit with a pre-meal aperitif in the...

This really is a step back in time. The feeling of the place is genuine; From the staircase that winds around a central hall to the labyrinth of corridors and stairs. The heating and facilities are not new and the shower a bit weak. This was more than compensated for by a four poster bed that I can only describe...

We had the possbility to go there with our family for dinner, as friends stayed in their Hotel. We were able to accounce beforehand that there was a plantbased person amoungs the additional 6 vegetarians. First off, the greeting is superb. We loved our host. She was extremely friendly and so professional. The way she read out the menu to...

We arrived after a difficult journey from Achill Island in torrential rain to a warm cosy fire in the well stocked bar.Staff and owner make you feel like part of the family, the house is full of wonderful furniture and objects of great interest. Best of all was the very excellent five course dinner plus wine. We hope to return again...

There is something very classy and old-wold going on here. Instead of meeting staff who believe service is something about being officious and efficient, this manor house does all of those things but adds friendly conversation, humor, and intelligence, as they attempt not just to house a guest but to host them. They are genuine, and interested in what you...

Checked into Newport house on the 29th August 2015. The house is different, in keeping with it's character, of land lords times. A cardigan I mislaid after arrival there, I checked with staff, if it turned up, unfortunately it did not, next morning I rechecked again with another staff member, she was very feisty with me that I quiered the...

Loved this place. Beautiful old country house, great sized room and spotless. Staff were wonderful. Having asked for tea and coffee when we arrived it was served in the drawing room with home baked delights. Gorgeous. We also had dinner here, 5 course meal and it was enjoyed immensely. Don't have a bad word to say about anything here.

The premises were ideal for our purpose, rooms for pre dinner drinks, dining room and lounge for coffee etc., all beautifully oldie world, but cosy and intimate. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The meal was a fine dining experience. The whole evening was memorable and thoroughly enjoyable, it couldn't have been better.
