We stayed here for 3 nights recently. The hotel is beautiful, bright, modern and clean. Staff were working very hard at sanitising and ensuring guests felt safe Until on Thursday night hotel had a special meal offer. Donegal was just about to go into lockdown and the bar was crowded...many locals were availing of the special offer and a last night out before lockdown. To add to our discomfort the lady manager (wearing visor ok) went around from table to table talking to guests. Totally inappropriate behaviour as I was so worried about the lack of social distancing already in the bar. We felt so uncomfortable about this we took our tea to our room to get out of bar as Covid cases in Donegal were climbing rapidly. Dungloe and it’s surrounds are well worth a visit in safer times and this hotel is really good. Staff in general are super.

Dear Aine, Many thanks for choosing to stay at the 4 Star Waterfront Hotel for 3 nights and to review the Hotel. Thank you for the compliments in relation to our hotel being beautiful, bright, clean with staff working and recommending the Dungloe and surrounding areas for a visit. We can only apologise that the Thursday night, being the night before another lockdown was busier than the other two nights and your comments regarding table service. We take Covid very serious in the hotel and will raise this matter. As you had two days with no issues, we hope you can accept our apology and we look forward to welcoming you back again. Kindest Regards F. Elliott

We stayed at this hotel recently as part of our Wild Atlantic Way trip, the location of this hotel is perfect, right on the coast with lovely views. The staff are friendly and professional with all the correct covid procedures in place. Would recommend.

Booked a double deluxe room for our overnight stay which had a side view of the sea. Check in was pleasant. The room was compact but clean and modern with good bedside lighting and well positioned tv. Good tea making facilities in room, good hairdryer, toiletries and clean and small but modern bathroom. Had enjoyable lunch on arrival in pleasant and well spaced dining room looking out onto the water. Was disappointed that some of the items were no longer available when we got to breakfast next morning at the appointed time. Lady serving cold food was not very friendly in relaying this information. Wondered how difficult it could be to replenish supplies. Apart from that breakfast was good and room spacious. Younger staff most helpful and friendly.

The bedroom was too small for three adults and the heat was stifling. As we did not eat dinner in the hotel as we were visiting friends we could not have a drink in the bar later. This meant we had to retire to our stifling small bedroom. We did stay previously in another hotel and as we were residents we could avail of bar after 10pm. I know we have to live with covid but not all situations are the same.We will not stay again.

Dear Guest, Many thanks for choosing to stay at the 4 Star Waterfront Hotel. Unfortunately, as a result of Covid the Irish Hotel Federation allowed for residents to avail of alcohol an hour before food and an hour after. We follow these guidelines which may not suit all guests but we have been upfront with these rules on our Covid guidelines on our website and at reception. In relation to the room being too hot, the temperature gauged n the room can be controlled by guests. Kindest Regards F. Elliott

We stayed as part of our Wild Atlantic way journey. Although nothing specifically bad just atmosphere wasn't welcoming for what would you expect 4 star hotel to be. Dinner was nice but menu is very limited and seemed more like a lunch menu (we had dinner at 7.00 p.m.) Also breakfast is served what I assume is room for weddings instead of the nice restaurant. The room is dark and it made it feel like canteen rather than hotel.
