We drove many hours up the Eastern Fjords and cut inland to get to this location. The mountains in the area looked magical and as we headed down into the valley to the tiny town of Egilsstadir. The area is known for cross country skiing and there is a college nearby. The Hotel Eyvindara was located off the main road...

Had a very nice stay here in one of the hotel rooms. Room was small but a comfortable size with private facilities. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast fairly standard. Entire hotel was very clean. Nice quiet location outside of town but easy drive into town.

We stayed in one of the cottages. It was so cozy! Someone from the hotel contacted us the night before our stay concerned that the cottage might be too cold and gave us our choice of the main building or the cottage (which he let us pick when we got there - so nice!). We went with the cottage because...

Staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the few hotels where they smiled at you and make you feel welcome. Love the attitude they had towards us. Buffet breakfast was very nice and complete. The lounge was quite nice, it looked like an Ikea display, so perfect and clean. Nice place to hang for a while and watch TV....

Stayed here in May 2016 at the start of a wonderful Iceland road trip. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was well located for walks and drives to some stunning locations. A buffet breakfast was provided and for a small charge you could help yourself to extras for a packed lunch.

We stayed at the Hotel Eyvindara for 2 nights during our 11 day tour of Iceland. The hotel has a mixture of rooms in the main building, the annex or in seven cottages. All our party had rooms in the main building. The rarity of the hotel site is that it has trees which is quite rare in Iceland! The hotel...

Located outside of town, this hotel is a cabin-camping-hotel hybrid with a central building and outlying smaller structures. The room was warm, clean and had an amazing view of the surrounding area. The staff was nice, but the owner was a bit overbearing and controlling. They state that they have free internet, but the connection only works in the central...

This is a lovely friendly hotel. We stayed in one of the wooden cabins which gave us privacy, a peaceful setting and freedom to come and go. Rooms are clean, warm, well maintained. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Explore the local area. Lots of lovely walks.

Our cottage was one of the newer ones and was situated amongst the trees, so was more private than the older cottages. It was sunny weather when we stayed and it was lovely sitting out on the little deck. The food in the restaurant was delicious and good value for money (comparatively) and the owner & cook(?) were lovely &...
