We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our tour round Iceland. The location is great with views (and good walks) of the nearby pseudo-craters. There is plenty to do here, especially if you have a car. It is also a good spot for viewing the Northern Lights, which we were lucky enough to see twice (the hotel has...

Spent an overnight at the Sel hotel as part of my Iceland Ring road your and it was great. Large room, with a gorgeous view. Great customer service.....Got in after restaurant was closed but they opened the cafe for me to buy some sandwiches. How thoughtful!! Great buffet breakfast. Hotel is very close to area attractions, although the area itself...

This was the only place around Myvatn we could afford. Still, it was pretty expensive! We stayed in a double bedroom with private bathroom. The room itself was clean enough, the bathroom included. However, once we got into bed we saw that there were old, small blood stains. Not what we wanted... However, after a long day of travelling and...

Hotel is well located along the south side of Myvatn Lake. It seems to be an older hotel but clean and comfortable. The room was slightly larger than we had become used to in Iceland. The bathroom was also of good size and had a tub/shower combination. We loved the heated floors and heated towel rack in the bathroom. Breakfast...

We stayed here three nights on a half board basis - my wife does not eat meat and I do not eat fish, so we are always a problem! neither of us eats chicken, so when we were offered chicken on the first night we had to explain, even though we had given details to the agent, they did not...

Sel Hotel was one of the only "hotels" we stayed in on our road trip around Iceland. It was a fine palce to stay for the nice, pretty basic, nothing fancy. The breakfast was tasty and there was plenty food and tables to sit at. Location is good. Overall it is fine for a night, but I probably wouldn't want...

The hotel is at the south end of Lake Myvatn right opposite the pseudo craters. The hotel is a little faded and feels a bit dark in the public areas. The rooms were a reasonable size, not huge, but quiet, and with nice views. Bathroom is fine with heated floors and a good shower. We had dinner at the restaurant,...

I lead photography workshops for Muench Workshops. We booked our group into Sel Hotel in March of 2017. Fantastic EVERYTHING! The staff was very attentive to our needs and very friendly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and large by Nordic standards. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are soft. Food: breakfast was varied and plentiful. Fresh fruits, make...

I stayed here for 4 nights as it's a good spot to watch the aurora borealis away from city lights. We could actually see them from our bedroom window which was a bonus. We could also see the pseudo-craters from our bedroom. We decided to go out walking during blizzard conditions and when we got back to the hotel it...
