The house, location and the warm welcome by Sigga and her husband were stunning. The breakfast one of the best we had during our trip to Iceland. Perfect if you want to visit Askja. Do not confuse with Grimstunga. My girlfriend and I loved it.

I stayed with Sigga for one night back in 2014. I arrived late, tired, and went straight to bed. I woke up to fresh bed, freshly picked blueberries, cured lamb, smoked salmon, and a spread of cheese. It was simple, homey, and loving. I haven't talked to Sigga since my trip, and I am not sure if she would remember...

I would highly recommend staying here. Sigga welcomed the five of us into the lovely wooden rooms of the guesthouse (the photo of the outside does not do justice to the inside!), and she and her husband provided a wonderful spread for breakfast, and really helpful advice about finding petrol without a 60km round trip!

Our stay in Grimsstadir was simply great. Sigga and her husband are so nice people and their hospitality was amazing. The house (it is not a normal guesthouse but their private house with rooms for guests) is so cosy and the landscape is incredibly peaceful. You feel at home right away. If you are tired of staying in hotels or...

We stayed three nights at grimstadir guesthouse. The location is remote but yet easily accessible, the atmosphere is warm and cozy. The breakfast was diverse and fresh. We had a wonderful stay and could really feel ourselves at home.

We stayed here for 1 night only back in November 2015, since it was the low season, we get to stay in the house with Sigga and her husband. We drove a long way from Svartifoss and arrived late at night around 11pm, Sigga was really friendly, not only she waited for us, she also made sure we didn't get...

We stayed here 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Sigga and her husband are lovely hosts and Sigga is a great cook. At 1 night we had the lamb diner and it was perfect. Also the breakfast is really good with smoked lamb, salmon and freshly baked pancakes. The bedrooms are small but with good beds. You share a modern...

We stayed a night here on out way around the Ring. Sigga was a friendly and helpful host. The house is comfortable and very clean. We also had a lovely lamb meal. It was lovely to stay with a local family. A sheep farm in a remote location the home is in a lovely setting and a great base for...

I had the opportunity to sleep one night at the guesthouse and one night at the old farmhouse (where the sleeping-bag accomodation is). Sigga is the owner and she and her husband have welcomed us as we arrived. They speak very little english, despite of it we have enjoyed the fine dinner she cooked we asked her for and later...

We stayed here just for one night in July 2015. Our hostess Sigga couldn't have been more accommodating. We had a lovely room. It's also a great location for exploring Dettifoss etc. Highly recommended.
