I stayed 3 nights in this hotel during my round trip through Iceland. The hotel is well located next to the lake Myvatn and offers you a basic stay. The rooms are ok, not very big, the only thing I struggled a bit was the shower, it takes 2-3 minutes to get warm water in the shower and there was... More

A very modern and comfortable hotel near Lake Myvatn. I stayed here two nights while photographing in the area. Room was very clean, quiet, bed comfortable and spacious bathroom. Room not overly spacious but not crowded. Had free wifi with good connection. There was a tv and I believe at least one English speaking channel. The hotel has a restaurant... More

Very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel. The staff folks go out of their way to be helpful, and the free breakfast is more than anyone could expect. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. This isn't 5-star (no gym or spa), but it's a very solid 4.

We initially booked (over phone) Hotel Reykjalid, as for the Lake Side and positive reviews, though that turned closed, and we were redirected to Reynihlid; we believe we should have been told this when phoning........ The room was just good, though overpriced at 22000 ISK (€ 178) The small dinner we had was fine,as well as breakfast.

We checked in on 10/3/16. Your average roadside motel. Friendly staff. Clean room. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Great food. (As usual the restaurants at some of this hotels are far more superior in quality that the hotels themselves! Requested a “northern lights wake up call “and I got one at 3:00 am. Tried to wake up my... More

Our rooms and beds were very comfort, friendly service and the best Chicken Caesar salad on the island! The area was spectacular with all the natural wonders. Plus the local hot springs were a bonus for us.

Enjoyed the convenient location close to the lake and the baths, We could even see the northern lights from the room. The facilities in general are not great as it is a little old so you are paying for location really. Breakfast was good and staff was ok.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the room, the lobby, the breakfast, the views...we went to the restaurant across the parking lot. Saw the Northern lights from the first turn out beyond the hotel up the hill. Black Icelandic horse across the road and a church next door. Delightful. Hot chocolate and a candy treat before bed each... More

The room is simple but warm and clean; the location is convenient but the parking lot is a little bit small that I almost can't find a space for my car. I was very impressed by the food for breakfast, delicious and fresh.

Beware possible confusion between two similarly named hotels in close proximity in the village of Reykjahlid, conveniently close to the Myvatn lake and local attractions. The Reynihlid is the larger of the two, beside the church. It is spacious and airy, with modern rooms and all amenities, clean and tidy. The in-house restaurant is a little bland but the Gamli...
