This is by far the worst stay on our two-week tour. Extremely loud. Although the kitchen is down the hall, it sounds like the guests are cooking and eating food in my room. Every clink of a fork or glass sounds like it is immediately next to me. Apparently nobody knows how to quietly close a door because it slams every time. The bathroom is adequate but moldy. If you have to stay here, I suggest not staying in the main building.
Big room with basin and nice kitchen in the house. The bathrooms are small, but quite correct. Breakfast, in a different house, but it is excellent and with lots of things to choice. Very well located near Myvatn Lake.
Great location with many interesting places nearby. The guesthouse has a kitchen with cookware. The room is not fancy with no TV and hair dryer. You can hear noises from the next room. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is really good.
Not too far from good food and a lot of tourist attractions, this guesthouse has been our place to stay twice now. Beds are good, kitchen has everything needed to cook a full meal. Grocery store super close by if you want to make food and save money. My only issue is the showers. Both times I’ve stayed, I’ve opted to skip showering because of the mold. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay for a day or two.
Stayed in a clean comfortable 3-bed shared room cottage with an adjoining room. Bath (needs to be updated), WC, and kitchen (clean!) shared. Breakfast very good. Pleasant kitchen staff. Front desk personnel hard to find after initial check-in, but very helpful. Fantastic location: 1 1/2 hours or less to Krafla area, Akureyri, Husavik, Myvatn lake, baths (highly recommend), Dimmuborgir, the Hv. crater, Adjeyafoss, Dettifoss, birdwatching, etc. Highly recommend this basic clean place, ask for the cottages.
