Elena's was one of the few places near Meteora that I could find and book online directly, so I took a chance. In May the rate was only 40 Euros without breakfast. We were quite pleased with the room, which was reasonably sized with a small refrigerator and a fairly large bathroom. Fairly new, extremely clean. Good signs in town directing you to the house, though the sign on the house itself is more subtle, so we missed it the first time through. Believe there are 4 rooms. We had one at the back with a small balcony and a partial view of one of the rocks. Very quiet. Not a bad walk into the main part of town and close to the footpath to Meteora which comes out at the base of the rock where Ayia Triada is built. I would recommend hiking that path for the wonderful views, if nothing else. Although a couple of miles and mostly uphill, it's not a terribly strenous walk.

Except from the "jaccuzi" bath we were expecting which turned out to be a shower booth with jet streams, everything else was good.
Mountain atmosphere for hikers who will enjoy a family style breakfast where they can meet other travellers.
Leaving the guesthouse towards the mountains, you can actually start hiking going up the road then right by the olive trees. You will get a good sight of the quiet side of the Meteora.

Elena's Guesthouse seemed like a budget accommodation at an inflated price. Check-in was difficult as there was no one around. I blindly knocked on the apartment below and found her son. The room was relatively clean, but bare lightbulb hanging loosely from it's socket was disagreeable. The breakfast for 15Euros was very underwhelming as well. For the cost, this guesthouse definitely did not deliver. For less money we stayed the night before at a FAR better accommodation (Pyrgos Adrachti).

Excellent accommodation and a place near Meteora in a quiet part of Kalambaka. The room have great furniture and very hygienic with a beautiful view of Meteora from the terrace.
A slightly higher price of accommodation and a very modest offer of coffee machines are not as much a problem as one person spoiled that night with an extremely inappropriate comment from where we are comes when I turned to 22:30 in the evening although I apologized because forgot to ask earlier for a freezer for our cartridges that we need for a hand-held refrigerator because we travel many miles a day
Very sad in 21.century when you are host and makes money from hospitality
That’s why two of five, in other way would be four

I booked my room online, paying a 15% deposit. When I arrived they said the room was unavailable claiming the bathroom was "broken". They re-directed me to a nearby older hotel, with less facilities and suggested I should pay the same price there. They then refused to give my deposit back - claiming I had never paid one. When I provided my online receipt they still totally refused to refund me. I left feeling very ripped off.

The hospitality excellent, the rooms styled with finesse and the view to die for. In the old part of Kalambaka with access to the Monasteries for those that wish to take a moderate walk. Highly Recommend.

A small group of us just stayed at Elena's Guest House this past week. It is a beautiful, hospitable guest house at the base of Meteora. I don't understand why the other reviews were so negative. We stayed in three rooms - all of which were beautifully furnished and decorated. There is a fireplace in the common room where breakfast is served, free Internet access is provided, and you can relax and feel at home. The junior suites have fireplaces too. All rooms have balconies with beautiful views, as well as satellite television. The bathrooms have brand-new modern showers. Elena was friendly, helpful and provided good advice on restaurants and travel routes. Meteora itself is a beautiful area. It's worth a side trip north in Greece to see this interesting area and stay in a wonderful guest house.

A beautiful location at the back of Kalambaka. An easy 10-15 minute walk from the main town high street through the authentic northern Greek town. The rooms are romantic and modern with good bathroom facilities. We would recommend a stay at this location right under the majestic rocks for easy access. Lots of advice on travel. We had a wonderful stay thank you XXXXXX

This is a small family establishment, which at best can be described as confused. I arrived at 4 pm and they already gave my room to someone else. I booked a room with a Meteora view and the attached was the view I got. At some point, they were not sure whether they had a room for me or not and mentioned potentially to move me to another hotel.
There is no reception, when checking out, I couldn’t find anyone so had to call the hotel’s phone number to get someone to come up. For an establishment with only five rooms, you would expect people to be better organised. I’d recommend to stay somewhere else.

The host is very welcoming and serves a good breakfast. Compared to similar priced hotels its however too expensive for what you get. The place is quite old fashioned but very clean. The location is wonderful - but out of our window we didn’t see the meteoras.
