Efficient and cheap laundry service. 8 eur for 5kg load, and it was done in 4 hours. Although the staff had said it'll take 8 hours. No where else in central of Kalambaka that does laundry. Thank you!!!

Actually you can't! The room we had had just enough space for me to stand, the curtain moves every time you move, or your arms! I was tempted to give average rating for that reason, and the rate, at 32E/night seem bit too much for off-season. We didnt see many people staying, there were some.
Daniel who runs the place had all the information you need and more if you ask. They greet you and smile, hospitable by the book. So if you ask can I stay an hour long, "no" is simple answer. So much so that Daniel also called promptly at 11 to remind us that it is check out time. That is by the book, can I really complain....and by the book, you could leave your luggage if you are leaving later on. We did that as we had a evening train. Being the budget traveller we are, it cost us only a coffee at Rapsido at 2.5 euro. Lunch we would have had anyway.
So, you can be here go with expectations as promised, they will deliver on that and happily. If you want extra, or a sense of flowing hospitality, maybe not here!

super friendly staff, well organized reception, with lots of tips on hiking around meteora.
Great service, very clean room with flat screen tv and free wi fi. Large balcony beside bedroom, and breakfast place inside lobby. It is a good choice!

At athe start, we were satisfied. despite of few imperfections.
- really small shower 50x50cm, Toilet in one bathroom led directly to shower, so if you wanted to sit on the toilet you had to have legs in shower...
- ubiquitous stink
- dirty and tattered carpets
- instead declared TV, we had small monitor high on the wall at which you have to look directly, which is not possible, because it is to high and opposite the bad
maybe it would be better no to have any TV than that...
- we imagined that the balcony with wiew to Meteora, could have atleast one chair and little table.
- breakfast.... the most expensive two eggs and tea in our lives, because the rest was non-edible
- we were reminded not to use air-conditioning while we were off, very unpolitely.
- we could able to ignore it all because we knew that it wasn't five star hotel

than we rated it on booking.com and we gave it nice average rating.
1 hour after our rating we recieved very offensive email from unknown address which said that we are idiots.

Dear Sir, We appreciate your comments and we really want to thank you. Your critics will help us improve our activity. Really we are sorry to see that you didn’t spend a nice time here even if we have tried our best to please you. BUT, you should know that we are a 2 stars hotel which respects entirely the requirements of its category. Even if we do a lot more for our clients, the facilities still remain of a 2 Stars hotel. So the price is accordingly with the category and a cheaper option will be the CAMPING. That’s why it’s really difficult to understand which were the expectations of somebody (who is driving a last model Grand Cherokee) to choose our hotel for his accommodation. You are right that in the beginning everything was nice and you were very satisfied. At least you told me so when I asked you many times during your first day. And you were grateful because I gave you all the 3 rooms with Meteora view even if you had paid just for one and the other two were with Mountain view, which were only 2€ cheaper. You were not disturbed by the small bathroom or the TV that you cannot see or the lack of the chair in the balcony to see the Meteora. And there wasn’t any smell or dirt in the room as well. According with our policy that you had in your room, these are serious problems and if we cannot fix them you had the right to leave without any penalty. I always prefer that an unhappy client leaves rather then staying because is forced to. And that’s the reason we charge always on departure. All these problems appeared when I told you that it’s not polite and fair that you had dismantle our power control system just to leave the A/C working all the day in the room while you were out, even if I specifically told you not to do it and it’s also written in our Guest Directory Book that you had in the room. If you will find a hotel in the world which will allow this please let me know. You complain that the carpet was dirty but you didn’t specify that you had brought vegetables and cheese from the supermarket to prepare a greek salad in your room and you through them on the carpet. We are really sorry that the crisis affects you so much…. Also, your comments about the breakfast are unfounded especially because this was an extra option for you and if was not good you could refuse to have it for the next day. Instead you ate also the decoration from the plate. As for the price, this is 3€/pers in case you don’t know. Finally we regret that all these problems ruined your holiday and we want to reassure you of our consideration.

This hotel is incredibly outdated. We booked 2 rooms. Both rooms were tiny, no place to put luggage. Bathrooms are in mildew. Showers are so small that even skinny person hardly can fit. Non-smoking rooms smell smoke. Lamps don't work. Also don't have illusions about mountain view. It"s another hotel behind it, and it"s what you see while booking rooms with mountain view.
However, hotel staff is very friendly. They are nice people. Will be great if they spend money for hotel renovation.

Dear Lady, Thanks a lot for your review. We are glad our hotel marked so intense your life that you put the same comments here and on booking.com. I see that you complain about everything. Only one thing you FORGOT TO COMPLAIN about: THE PRICE YOU HAVE PAID FOR THIS ROOM. You can find all the stuffs that you believe were missing in your room at a nice hotel right next to us. A 4 stars hotel with the room rate of 100€/night. The difference till 30€/night ( the price that you pay in August for a double room) will cover all these amenities and I assure you that you will feel great. Sincerely,

We were staying in Kastraki and desperately needed to do laundry. Thanks to another Trip Advisor forum we discovered that Hotel King has a laundry service. We came by at 2pm and said we would really like the laundry back the same day. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and said we should assume about 4 hours from start to finish and that they would start immediately. We came back at dinner time and our large pile of laundry was folded and waiting and we were only charged 8 euros.

To add to the positive experience, despite the fact I was not staying at the hotel, the person at Front Desk was happy to recommend restaurants and patiently write down the names and answer my questions.

At this time of year the towns are very quiet and bereft of tourists. It was very refreshing to get such prompt and attentive service.

We should have realised that this hotel was poor at the price however it exceeded our expectations in this regard.

The room was like a prison cell, the bathroom small cramped and the toilet was shoehorned into remaining space and unusable in the sitting position for someone with legs.

The shower was cosy to say the least and the wash basin designed specifically to fill your lap with water every time you turned on the water tap, of course the tap had two settings off and full blast so adjustment of the tap was a fruitless exercise.

Not a good hotel in any way one to certainly to be avoided at all costs very likely the worst hotel in which I have ever stayed.

The price was great, isn’t it? I didn’t see in your review any complain about cleaning or that the air conditioning is not working or that you didn’t have hot water or a good Wi-Fi. You complained about the facilities and the comfort. A 4 or 5 stars hotel will offer you also A/C, hot water, wi-fi, etc., in a bigger and nice decorated room but at much higher price. This is the difference between a 2 stars hotel and a luxury hotel. We understand your frustration of not being able to afford a more fancy room. But, don’t blame us for your empty wallet.

Me and my family were in Hotel King at 9th of August. Hotel is average (not bad, not good). Perfect for one or two nights. It's near Meteora and other attractions in the city. A very big problem is stuff. Person on the reception is unkind and unhelpful. When you ask him about something he answer in a sarcastic way, which is very naughty in places like hotel. He didn't want to show us our rooms, because it's unneeded.

My sarcasm is based on an allergy: I’m allergic to clowns and hypocrites. What do you expect when you came as a gilded butterfly, with your chest proud and shout to me to show you the room because otherwise you will not fill in the registration form. I have explained to you that you have made a reservation (non-refundable) on Booking.com and you know from the pictures how the rooms looks like, but again you have raised you voice to me. Generally, it say, that with the person with a very low level of education and intelligence is not good to argue because is spend a lot of effort to go so down to their level. So I left you on your own to have a Sunday morning subject of discussion in your 5000 people’s village.

This is the best rip off in meteora, I've never ever met such an ill mannered person in my life (before meeting the owner of this hotel).
We were a little late due to both bad road and difficulty in finding the place, so decided to call the owner, he was irritated from the word hello and told us that how can we not find the hotel that is situated on the main road. Anyways somehow we managed to find the place after getting help from people. When we arrived at the hotel we contacted the owner again and he showed up in a while engraged, opened the hotel door and angrily inquired if it was us who were calling him and told us if we were not reading the check in rules, if we do not like the rules and don't want to pay extra we should find another place.
The owner was demanding 15 euros extra for late check in which in the beginning I declined to pay because of his really bad attitude. But since this was a non refundable reservation i decided to pay and atleast spend the night as it was already late because of him starting the argument for a long time without showing any empathy and flexibility. Once we decided to pay and asked for a parking space which we already checked the box when making the reservation he quite angrily stated that the parking is dependent on availability and that we need to park our car on a paid parking 50 meters away from the hotel.

Since we did not have a choice and wanted to sleep as quickly as possible after an extremely long day we agreed to park some where else. He asked us to fill in the form but immediately changed his mind took away the form and stated "you know what, you don't stay here and this is a cancellation now" and asked us to leave the hotel and threatened us that he would contact the POLICE and they would throw us out from the premises, we decided to not leave the place after all this humiliation and demanded the reimbursement of the reservation cost.

After another round of argument he finally decided to contact booking and we had to leave the premises after being requested by them since the owner was not willing to accept us as guests after waiting approximately for an hour and a half and the clock ticking around 00:35 hrs. With the help of booking we found a hotel nearby named kaikus with much friendly staff and excellent service. This was a nightmare experience!!

Let me remind you the hotel policies that are very clear on Booking.com page and that you have accepted when you have made your reservation: - Please note that the reception is open from 07:00 till 22:30. Early check-in is subject to availability. Late check in is possible at extra charge. - Please note that limited parking places are available on site and reservation is not possible. Your uneducated wife called me in the middle of the night complaining that the hotel is not where it should be and you are searching for 45minutes (I told her that in 20 minutes you can pass Kalabaka on foot). After another 30 minutes you have finally reached the hotel and your wife called me again demanding why nobody was waiting for her. Dear billionaire, there is a limit in everything and you are so wrong if you believe that I’ll accept everything just because you thought that by paying me 35€ gives you the right to act in this rude manner. I asked you if you have read your reservation and you told me that you don’t have to and I should be happy that you have booked our hotel during the economic crises. REALLY, are you serious? Regarding the parking, it seems that you are in a deficit of logic and intelligence. I told you that at 50m from us there is a public parking (“public” in Greece means free). This was not enough for you because you claimed that you have asked during the reservation for the parking on site. Contrary to your thoughts, that the hotel was empty on 15th of August and all of us we are waiting you tense at the door, the hotel was full and other guests used the parking places available on site. What would you like me to do? To wake somebody up in the middle of the night and asked him to move his car because he was not smart enough as you, YOUR CLEVERNESS, to click the box for a parking place. After all the discussions, I realized that your level of understanding is so low and probably I’ll spend all night trying to make you clear. That’s why I called booking.com and they explained you very clear that it’s only your fault and I’m in my rights to do exactly as I did. It was 02:00 a.m. when you finally left the hotel. What a nightmare guest!
