Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The hostel is very close to everything and very central.
Sadly we didn’t have a lot of time with Dora the owner of the hostel. We only saw her the last day we were here. But from the other reviews it seems like we missed out on a lot. 😕
She seemed so sweet and we loved talking to her. ❤️
The hostel is what you expect from the price.
You have wifi but we kinda had problems with it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it didn’t. Mby we just were unlucky.
Other than that it was good! We will be visiting again if we come to Kalambaka again. We hope you’ll be there Dora!

Best regards Mia and Vassiliki ❤️

I am super pleased about people in the hostel. The service is professional and proactive. They will help you so get ready for spending dancing time in the area. I also received one of best cakes I ever did taste.

Good hostel to stay during your visit to Meteora, clean and with an excellent location. The owner is very kind and helpful. She offers you all the information you need about Meteora and is willing to help you in any way.

You get what you pay for, and this is definitely the most affordable hostel choice near Meteora.
In a heatwave, it was very noticeable to us that the AC unit was broken. Beds have really noisy/crinkly plastic mattress protectors, everything is pretty dated. The kitchen is outdoors and the doors do not lock. Still - for the price point you really can't complain. Ask your host about breakfast at the cafe down the road, they have a bit of a partnership for an affordable brekky.
Great location.

In a place such an inpressive as Meteora you can not ask for anything else, cause you feel already in a magical world that you do not deserved.
But, in El Greco, we founded much more.
Dora will cook for you the best greek food in grece, she will do with so much love that you'll doubt about your own mother love, and serve to you with a big smile.
The price she asks is sooo little that you will be ashamed to dont be able to thank her in a better way.
Dimitri will show you the iconic Meteora and the monasteries, in a hiking excursion, he knows everything and he'll share to you in a way that you'll be sad once the excursion is finish. He will ask you just for a tip, again, making you feel ashamed of your self to not be able to thank him in a proper way.
You will go happy to see the floating stones, but you will leave sad, leaving El Greco.

Nice and cheap place to stay in Kalambaka. It is clean and has balcony perfect to spend some time with friends. Woman working there was so kind and helpful, explained us everything about Meteora monasteries. Cafes and markets in same street.

A couple of friends and I stayed here 2 nights so we could hike around the Meteora. The hostel itself is clean, the dorm rooms have comfortable beds and ceiling fans for when it gets hot and the location is very central. What really made my visit were the owners; they were very helpful in answering our questions and incredibly friendly. During the hot afternoons they offered us iced coffee and, the day we left, they made us breakfast! All in all a great hostel.

We just spend one night in this wonderful hostel but it was a great experience. It is a comfortable place to sleep and Anastasia, the person in charge, was so so nice with us and we had a fantastic conversation with her. She also prepared for us a very good breakfast. We really recommend the hostel and meeting Anastasia.

Hostel Greco is one of the nicest and friendliest hostels I have stayed in. I came with 3 friends and we stayed for two nights.

The sheets and bathroom were impeccably clean. The owner, Dora, is kindly and personable. She has sensible rules and basically runs a tight ship. If you have a problem with one or two rules, don't bother coming, Her staff were very polite and helpful. The hostel offers breakfast which is cooked for you for a voluntary donation to the owner's charitable work in Tanzania.

A wonderful hostel in a stunning area! One of the highlights of our stay in Meteora was the hostel.

2€ for a shower after checkout... At 10 AM!
No cooking after 9 at night! How do I watch the famous sunset and cook dinner? No time before or after!
No hanging out on the roof at night!

The Albanian girls working there are wonderful.
The owner is awful!

No hand washing clothes allowed! 5 euros to wash clothes in the washer!

Awful place - try Meteora Central Hostel.
