Wonderfully homey, comfortable and cozy hotel. The owner and his family are so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is great, the bed is very comfortable and the view and location is spectacular. Walking distance to great restaurants, Nepali and Newari temples and culture, surrounded by beautiful old architecture and a killer location right in Patan Durbar Square that is filled with so much history.

Highly highly recommend and will definitely be staying my next trip to KTM!

We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights, and we can only confirm all the positive comments from the other guests.
Heranya has only 8 rooms which are spacious, clean, comfortable, and modern, and managed as a family hotel; the management and staff are really kind, welcoming, diligent...
The owner, Mr Mahendra, is very pleased to spend few hours with you walking around and visit the “hidden” beautiful sites and temples of Patan.
Staying at Heranya Yala offers a more relaxing location than Kathamandu with many sites to discover around.

I went to Heranya Yala on 21st March since it was in patan, me and my fiance was planning to visit patan Durbansquare. We booked the place coz it was next to patan durbansquare however after reaching Heranya Yala it was nothing but disappointment.

Room that was provided to us had no television, water was basically tap water coz i can see it wasn’t sealed too, air-con wasn’t working had to call their team for help ..their kettle was dusty and also basket of coffee/tea … worst part was that reception was unattended and could hear phone ringing till in our room & could hear the footstep of people walking up & down .. at that point we were abit annoyed already so decided to check out and then when we went to reception desk to checkout there was no one … i had to call the guy (their team) to inf that we are leaving since we make the payment when we check in . …i really hope you guys will improve infuture & take it as constructive criticism

Very nice new hotel. Room is modern and bright with little details that make a big difference. Hotel owner kept old architecture with authentic stones and wood in a very charming way. You have fresh white towels in your bathroom and a shower curtain. Shampoo and shower gel in little terracotta flacons. The room has facilities for tea, capacities to put your luggage, night tables with light to read, wardrobe, Windows (double glass), comfortable bed.
The breakfast was very nice too. The best part was a private guided tour by the hotel owner self. He spent 2 1/2 hours with us and he provided us so much information about Patan and life in Nepal. He is so knowledgeable, it was a real pleasure listening to him. We can highly recommend this place and if we come back to Patan we will stay again at this place. You won't regret to stay here.

if you are looking for a place in kathmandu valley to have a three, four, five, six, or a seven meal course, your search should end here

the food is tailored made to your preferences prepared by two young chefs who have learnt the art abroad

they ask you to inform them two days in advance and tailor the courses upon your individual choices

if you are a foodie and like a meal worth the while this is a place you have to visit

my french friends were extremely impressed and very pleased with the food

you may want them to get you the wine or the bubbly or even ask them if you could bring them yourselves for a corkage charge of course

bon appetit

What a gem. After a few nights in a small and dull room in noisy, crowded and overpriced Thamel, I found a hotel and a neighborhood that were one the highlights of my trip to Nepal.

Heranya Yala is a recently-renovated hotel that preserves all the flavours of tradition wrapped in the comfort of modernity: tastefully-decorated ample rooms, delightful beds, warm lighting and a well-equipped bathroom.

Located in a quiet, heritage-rich neighborhood nearby Patan Durbar square, the view of the hotel's ancient backyard from your window makes you feel a privileged traveler.

And on top of it all, the Hotel's owner took aside a good chunk of his working day to show me the multiple treasures of a neighbourhood that could well be by its own right a touristic destination.

I could hardly recommend this place more.

Excellent small hotel in Patan, very clean and tastefully decorated. Close to Durbar Square. Friendly staff and good food. The highlight of staying here was the complimentary walking tour escorted by the owner, very informative and above expectation. I definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed for just two nights in Patan, with our first morning being greeted by the lovely hotel owner for a complimentary two hour walking tour! He showed us all the secret peaceful community spaces, shrines, temples and houses and also gave us a good detailed history of the town and Nepali culture. He was extremely hospitable and so friendly. The food was also so good! (We tried breakfast and lunch during our stay)- especially if you like a lighter meal. All staff were accomodating and hospitable and cleaned our room/ topped up water/toiletries/refreshments even without having to request. They also took card payments which was super helpful when travelling on a budget!

Would definitely recommend this beautiful interiors and boutique style hotel.

The hotel was perfectly comfortable: bed, warm shower and airco. The staff of the hotel was so very kind and especially the owner of the hotel gave us an incredibly interesting complementary tour around the old city of Patan! I definately recommand!
