Off of Highway 40, route 66 passes through the center of Winslow Arizona. Here you will find a statue of Jackson Browne of the Eagles who was the co-writer of the song “Take It Easy”. In Winslow you will find the La Posada hotel. This hotel was originally a Harvey House which was where Santa Fe Railroad travelers would stay...

This is a fantastic hotel /museum /art gallery to stay at, to fully appreciate the work that has gone into the rehabilitation of the property, history over the last century and ongoing vision. It was a bit out of the way from where we were going, but we didn't regret the extra miles, with particular special mention of the restaurant,...

My second visit to this wonderful hotel. Takes you back in time to the elegance of the 30's. And at a very reasonable price. Colorful, warm, charming. The Turquoise Room has fantastic food, and one fun thing to do is get a drink and sit outside in the back and watch all the trains go by. Some stop and let...

This is a wonderful old place, lovingly restored and operated. We stayed there twice in the last month, on both ends of a trip out of town. The first night was spent in one of the less expensive rooms, which was small but just fine. For our return, I thought it would be great to have a balcony room, so...

We should all be thankful for the current owners for saving this hotel. It is a railroad hotel from the 1930s which was renovated. It is part of the collection of hotels all throughout the west designed by Mary Colter supported by Fred Harvey (Grand Canyon fame). Not only is it historical from the viewpoint of a train hotel, it...

We stopped in Winslow AZ to "stand on the corner of " The town itself is pretty depressed. Asked at the store across the street from "the corner" where a good place to eat would be and she suggested the La Posada Hotel. Thank you!! What an experience. We had dinner in the Turquoise Room and it is very “first...

We spent three days at La Posada and loved the place. Talk about an interesting and historic hotel! The rooms, the hallways, the lobbies, the ballroom, the game rooms....all are filled with beautiful and appropriate antiques from the 20ies and 30ies. There is a wonderful and very informative video created by the owner, which explains the history and the restoration...

I first read about this hotel when planning the Grand Circle tour and knew I wanted to stay here. We were not disappointed! Great care has been put into the restoration and it is a sheer delight to stay here. Our room was clean, well appointed and comfortable. We were really appreciative of their "green" efforts with the soap reclamation...

We spent two nights in the James Cagney room at La Posada! The desk staff were amazing and the place is very peaceful! We had breakfast each morning in the Turquoise Room, food and service exceptional as well as dinner one evening. We also took advantage of their "to go" picnic box offering to bring along on our journey the...
