La Posada in Winslow, AZ is a true gem in the middle of nowhere. Unless, of course, you want a fine hotel to stay in so you can stand on the corner in Winslow. Take the tour conducted by Harvey Girl club members. It is supposed to run for 1 1/2 hours, but we had time and our guide was...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 9 February 2017 via mobile

We have been staying at the La Posada regularly since 2008. The hotel has been reconverted to Mary Colter's design with period accoutrements and furniture. The rooms are really comfortable and the staff is excellent. We are always welcomed back with warm greetings. The hotel was a Union Pacific hotel and the Amtrak station still operates. Trains pass regularly which...

What a special place this hotel is.Its like going back to the first half of the Twentieth Century and living like the cultural elite. It had the bad luck of opening the first time in 1929, and was never really a going concern despite the illustrious guests who stayed there. Designed by a great architect, Mary Coulter, La Posada was...

On the recommendation of our guide from All-Star Tours, we stopped here on the way from Petrified Forest National Park to Flagstaff. Easy access from I-40. This is an old, reconditioned hotel dating from the Fred Harvey era (dining cars, Harvey Girls, etc). The hotel itself is a museum and visitors are encouraged to explore the various floors. The restaurant,...

This was our third stay at La Posada, so we clearly are satisfied with the property. The hotel has what we would consider a high end restaurant, but there are cheaper places to eat within walking distance. There are many places to sit outside the room to read and it is a tourist site in itself to take the self...

Allow time during your stay to explore the hotel and grounds. Other reviewers mentioned the excellent art, beautiful gardens, carefully-restored building, and fun hay bale maze. Try not to miss any of those, plus be sure to spend time looking at the photo wall of famous people who have visited La Posada through the decades. There's a self-guided tour if...

This hotel is amazing, the premises are as inspiring as inviting and are very well taken care of. Our room was full of atmosphere and coziness - although a bit basic. The fact that this hotel serves as well as an Amtrak train station makes the experience unique. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We stayed only two nights but would...

OK, so the guest rooms are relatively small but they have all the amenities. And the building itself is a museum and art gallery and a history lesson in addition to being a hotel. The restaurant food is excellent albeit a bit high priced. One of the co-owners, Tina Mion, is a fascinating artist. My only complaint was that I...

My wife loved our stay at this historic hotel, while I tried to figure out an easy way to get our luggage to our room. The parking lot was full when we arrived, so we were a long way from the only door open to the outside. All incoming guests carry their luggage through the gift shop and then through...

Where do I start? The staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are fantastic, the gardens are beautiful, the artwork is outstanding, and the restaurant is tops. It is a railroad hotel that has been revived - designed by Mary Colter many years ago. We stay here whenever we are remotely close - every time we are there, we see...
