This is an excerpt from my blog. I am not sure why I am drawn to Mo'tels that are, well, not the nicest. So although I see some nice mo'tels on the other side of the street (you can always tell a nice mo'tel when they have hanging flower baskets with pansies near the office and a paved lot) I...

The worst Motel I ever stayed at. The second night I stayed there I woke up covered in Bug Bites. I went to the CVS Drug Store in Wickenburg and the Pharmacist looked at the bites and asked me if I stayed at the Indian Owned Westerner Motel. She said I was far from the first to seek help after...

What was going to be a three week stay ended after 8 days. Huge bedbugs my wife has infected bites. The owner doesn't care at all. The motel is run down dirty beds. Broken pool. My one month old has bites. DON'T STAY HERE!

If you appreciate a piece of motoring history and can handle a slightly 'rough-around-the-edges' experience for a great value, this place is pretty cool and will support a local business owner. The mural on the wall behind the front desk shouldn't be missed; like going back to the golden era of road trips. After reading other reviews, we asked to...

Some people gave this place "Bad Reviews". I don't know why. THERE WERE NO BED BUGS!!! My husband & I like the ambiance of the place. The woman(maybe the owner) we always saw her taking care of the place & the one who checked us in every time we've been there. She was such a sweetheart, singing & talking to...

This is exactly what you think it is. A old 1950's motel. We found it to be charming, friendly, quiet and cheap. About $40 for a week night (jan 2011). There are issues, specifically the need to basically bring your own towels. However, there is unexpected free wifi, a fridge and microwave in each room. Other amenities are dated for...

Its not fancy, but the location, price and style make this place a great stayover in Wickenburg. The rooms are clean and parking right outside your door brings back the old motor court days. We'd definately stay here again. Not for those expecting a 5 star resort by any means, but it has everything you'll need for a good night's...

You have to ask for bath towels, face cloths, cups. No ice on premises. Dirty pool.

I'm not going to rave about the Westerner as some others have, but it was fine for the price (about $55 for four of us). If you're worried about thread counts and lots of extras, check elsewhere; the Westerner isn't for you. But if you simply want a clean place to sleep, it'll do. Its tile floors offer a bit...
