We stayed here for 5 nights in March 2009. We booked late and were offered a tent, which turned out to be perfect for us. It meant we didn't have a room that shared a wall w/ a family (although several cabins are free standing) and sharing a bathroom with those in the other tents was fine. The tent we...

I spent 6 nights at Las Caletas and had a wonderful time. The setting is idyllic, and the vibe is very laid back, welcoming, homey, and very comfortable. I slept in one of the tents because no bungalows were available. The tent turned out to be very comfortable. It is very roomy, sits on a platform and is as clean...

Jolanda and David run a wonderful lodge. Their guide Eric is superb, especially at finding mammals in Corcovado Park. We also enjoyed the night tour and the trip to Cano Island (our 8 year olds loved their first experience snorkeling.) Our boys are picky eaters, I call them "pastafarians" since that's about all they eat, so we especially appreciated the...

This was our first stop, and although very tired after our journey from England, I instantly relaxed. We stayed in the "honeymoon cabin" which I liked as it was a little more private than some of the other rooms. I loved sitting watching the birds and animals pass by. David was a great host, and we had some enjoyable trips...

My wife and I spent 7 nights at Las Caletas in February 2009. The lodge has 8 to 10 or so rooms/cabins and hosts perhaps 15 - 20 people at a time. The setting is simple and you arrive by motor boat with a short dash through the surf to the beach... expect to get a little wet.... it's warm...

Anything is possible if you ask---that is what I have found there. The wildlife outside the open windows, the views, the trips (Eric is great and we saw a Puma!), the food, the friendly travelers. After one visit with friends, I had to return with husband so he could also enjoy this area and hotel. He also fell in love...

We agree with many of the other reviewers that gave this place high ratings. The views are beautiful and there are many hiking paths and opportunities. The food was very good and Eric is a very good tour guide. The only problem we had came at the end when we went to pay our bill. When we confirmed our reservation...

My wife and I stayed in 2 places while in costra Rica. This was the 2nd of the two. Las Caletas although nice in location was lacking in other areas. After arriving by transfer from another lodge, our driver was told it would be approx 10 minutes for our boat pick up. They showed up about an 1.5 hrs later....

We loved Drake Bay, and Las Caletas was a terrific hotel. The views from the top were stunning, and it has access to a lovely beach and snorkeling. Good food and service as well, and the tours with Eric were very good.

We stayed a total of 11 days on the Drake Bay coast. For those who haven't been there it is a coastline backed by jungle and there is no traffic out of town. Everybody arrives by boat at their respective lodges and so does all the supplies to serve all the guests. We first stayed five days in a larger...
