Bert is a lively and accommodating host. His food is delicious, and his stories are so entertaining. The people you meet here are one of a kind too! You share meals and stories together, and you can hang out in your private room. There are many activities to enjoy if you'd like. Bert helped us arrange horseback riding, a zipline...

we spent one night at the Lodge it it a pretty nice place, the views and the peace and quiet (except for some guests) is quite a perfect combo, the food is a bit average but in abundance. The next morning we did the Canopy tour which was great 7 different lines and one of them was very fast and...

Came here with a group of five friends, rooms were simple, clean and had everything we needed. Bert made us good food. We didn't eat there all the time, ventured into town quite a bit, but Bert provided us with lots of entertainment, including a spontaneous concert with his local friends. The ocean views are breathtaking. Early morning wake ups...

We just returned from an unbelievable 10-day stay at Bella Vista Lodge and loved every minute of it! This was the perfect place to get away from it all and just chill. You will need to rent a small 4x4 to ford a small river and negotiate the unpaved road up to the property as well as explore this southern...

Only stayed for 1 night but we were impressed with how nice Bert & his staff were, how gorgeous the view was & how delicious dinner was, especially the strawberry pie for dessert! Unfortunately one of the poor dogs was agitated, itchy & stinky from a fight wound on her back & kept darting in & out from under the...

What a cool spot! We were a group of 4 friends who visited over Semana Santa and Bert let us make a last minute reservation over the phone - we even brought our dogs! The property was beautiful and Bert and the other staff were the best (according to him, "The only rule is, there are no rules!"). Our house...

I've been to Bella Vista Lodge more times than I can count over the past 8 years. I've spent weeks and even months on this magical mountain-top, hovering over the Pacific. The rustic retreat has a few great rooms in the main lodge and a two-story cabin a stones throw away (even more private with equal killer views). Let me...

Bert and the staff at Bella Vista are the best! I have been to CR many times and have yet to find a place with such views. While it is very private, you are super close to downtown Domincal and numerous great beaches. Not to take a back seat to the view is Bert's cooking and cocktails. This was truly...

We loved Bella Vista and Dominical so much, we plan on moving there by the end of this year. Bert is an awesome host, chef and friend. He creates a lifetime experience for each guest. The views of the Pacific are incredible, the closeness to Mother Nature and all her exotic creatures is EXTREME! We would recommend BellaVista for adventure,...

“Up top in the community area, I'd say the Toucan room is your best bet. Down below in the cabins, I'd opt for the top unit if possible. Bottom cabin can be pretty noisy depending on who is upstairs.”
