Not too happy with on site parking. I felt that $15 p/day should have afforded us at minimum a SECURED location.

The Graduate Tempe just right for our needs and budget. Comfortable, clean, friendly staff.

We were on the go most of the time so the small room with few amenities (eg. no coffee maker) was fine. The location was ideal, as it’s not far from the major freeway on/off ramps. It’s a bit too far to walk to Mill Ave activities for us but there’s a new bus shuttle that stops just across from the hotel every 15 minutes that worked very well.

The Graduate “dining hall” was a very comfortable place to eat and hang out to play cards in the evening after a busy day sightseeing. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. Bar options and prices also good. We didn’t get very warm weather to use it much but can confirm that the outdoor/pool patio was comfortable, clean, nicely warmed water and pool towels supplied.

Eclectic decor, excellent location, friendly staff. Our bathroom sink was clogged so that was just gross, housekeeping staff must have known & ignored it. We were on a tight schedule and did not want to share our space with a plumber or move rooms , so we sucked it up. Hate trash & single use plastics, hospitality industry are rated the worst offenders, they have a restaurant/diswasher on site so put some glass glasses and ceramic coffee cups in rooms, I am sick of those specimen cups wrapped in film. The instant coffee tasted terrible, need a better solution.

Rated as a 4-star establishment, The Graduate Hotel unfortunately falls far short of expectations. While I must commend the front desk staff for their courteous and helpful demeanor, their assistance seems to extend only so far, with no apparent influence over the cleanliness or maintenance of the facility—a point which markedly detracted from the overall experience.

Upon entering my room, I was met with a disconcerting dampness on the floor, which felt nearly wet underfoot—a stark contrast to the comfort and dryness one would expect in such an establishment. Further inspection revealed a disheartening neglect for cleanliness: dirty clothes were left in the drawers and even among supposedly fresh bed linens. These unfortunate discoveries were compounded by a malfunctioning shower, equipped with broken soap dispensers, rendering it impossible to utilize the provided shampoo.

The hotel’s amenities, specifically the pool area, echoed this theme of neglect, appearing extremely dated and poorly maintained. Adding to the disappointment, the hot tub was out of service, effectively stripping away the potential for what could have been a relaxing evening.

This experience left a decidedly bitter taste, especially given the hotel’s purported rating. It is standard practice, or so one would expect, for management to offer some form of compensation or at least an alternative stay to make amends for such grievances. Regrettably, no such offer was made.

In summary, The Graduate Hotel, despite its promising star rating and the kindness of its front desk staff, is a far cry from what one might reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel. The level of upkeep and attention to guest comfort and satisfaction is alarmingly inadequate, making it difficult to recommend to potential visitors looking for a quality stay.

The Graduate is continently located across the street from Arizona State University and is a very modern yet retro hotel from the moment you enter the vestibule to the lobby. The staff is attentive and there’s a neat mascot cutout at the front desk. The room keys are replicas of student IDs like Pat Tillman. The sleeping rooms are nicely laid out with neat paintings and tissue designs. There was some rust on the sink, but not devastating. The temperature was fine and the bed was adequate. I used the gym and it had the typical equipment like a treadmill, elliptical, and tv. Otherwise, the pre and post stay communication made me feel like my reason for visiting Tempe was to go to the Graduate. One of the emails offered me a room upgrade, which was appreciated. Definitely check this place out.

The location was excellent. The breakfast burritos and lattes were perfect. The restaurant is a bit slow between 6-8am allow for 15 mins. They have a shuttle but is not often available. Walking distance to lots of great restaurants. Some Burros for quick outside patio and good margaritas. Culinary Drop Out and Postinos is a 15 min walk thru campus, felt very safe. They have a food hall if you have a large group and you can order Uber Eats. The pool was very warm and had a good hot tub - not too hot. They only have 10 lounge chairs so if you are a big group, some people will need to sit in chairs. The elevator is fairly quick. With large groups for tournaments this was the perfect hotel. It’s 10 minutes to the airport and 15-20 mins to Old Town Scottsdale with lots of restaurants. The Bell Bank park was about 30 mins plus allow for 15 mins for parking. We would return to this hotel.

The manager was extremely rude to me the paying customer as I complained to her about the broken heater in the room and that there were no additional blankets to keep warm. She offered no apology and basically shamed me saying that it was my fault. I would never recommend staying in this place.

Location! Location! Location! The Hotel is conveniently located near Arizona State University, Gammage Theater and a variety of shops and restaurants. You can take a ride on the Streetcar and the stop is only a few feet away outside of the front door. The Hotel has comfortable beds and a warm and cozy feel to it. The staff and managers are always gracious and ready to assist you. There is a QR code for guest to scan and see the various food choices with Graduate food hall. There is a microwave, vending machine and ice on every floor. Every room has a balcony. I also noticed that the ADA rooms on the ground level offer your own private patio with lounge chairs. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. I asked that "celebrating my birthday" be put in the reservation comments and when I arrived the room was decorated with a happy birthday sign and local snacks. Thank you to everyone at Graduate Tempe who participated in making my "Birthday" very special. I enjoyed my stay, and I am really considering a yearly visit to Graduate Tempe and Collin at Cryo Tempe.

I've stayed at the Graduate in Athens GA and LOVED it. The Graduate in Tempe needs some hot water for showers and correct descriptions on bedrooms. I requested a King room, paid for a King room and got a Queen room and was told this was their "King Room" I was given a small discount after my questioning but still had no hot water for 3 showers, no robes, no complimentary coffee ...

Response from Anthony Peterson, General Manager at Graduate By Hilton Tempe
Responded 26 Sept 2023
Hello Stacey! Thank you for our recent stay with us at the Graduate Tempe. We value all feedback, in order to provide the best guest experience. We sincerely apologize for the hot water issue experienced this past weekend. We had an unexpected emergency plumbing issue, which has been rectified. After review of your reservation and your room, we did verify that the mattress in your room measures 76'' in width, which is a standard king. There is complimentary coffee in your guest room, located with the tea kettle set up, and unfortunately we do not provide robes, as robes are not listed as an amenity on our booking websites. We wish that you had a better experience, but we thank you for your time and feedback.
