This hotel had some definite plusses -- but downsides too. Here's what I took away: -- Lovely setting with views of Camelback and other mountains -- It's a large resort, with rooms spread out. This means you may end up driving around just to get to breakfast or the pool. -- Vegans should stay away. Stunning how few food options...

The property at Camelback Inn is beautifully landscaped and very relaxing. I wish I was back at this resort right now and I plan to visit again next year. The spa is also worth a visit. Try a massage, then spend the day at the Spa pool.

My fiancee and I just came back from a wonderful long weekend in Scottsdale, and I cannot stress enough what a fantastic time we had thanks largely to our experience at the Camelback Resort. The service is superior. From the moment we were greeted at the bell desk we felt like we were among friends. They held my fiancee's golf...

When you stay at the JW Camelback Resort, you really feel like you're in the desert. The rooms are bungalows, and are spread out throughout the property, allowing for lots of desert plants and wildlife in between - the property has jackrabbits, and many bird species. If you're a hiker, this is a great location because there are two modest-sized...

I have been to this property over the last ten years. It is well maintained with clustered casitas. The landscaped walks to meeting rooms surrounded by the mountains was a great change from my routine in NJ! The rooms come with refrigerator and microwave, so leftovers from a restaurant need not be wasted. The pool areas are well appointed with...

We stayed at this hotel while on a road trip of the southwest. I had heard great things about it and we wanted to see for ourselves. It is located just outside Phoenix but far enough away to feel you have left the big city. The hotel is spread out with private casitas. The grounds are landscaped lushly with cactus...

I attended one of my medical conferences at the resort last week. Coming from the Land of the Polar Vortex, this was the ideal venue for our meeting. The customer service was good. The staff was always helpful and attentive. My Casita, Room #205 was just right. It was a minimal walk away to my meeting rooms and the central...

The resort is beautiful, the rooms are quiet. The Steak restaurant was great, and had fabulous service, though you do need to make reservations to get in before 730pm The reason I rated this hotel a 4 is because it is VERY pricey - ie) Can of soda is 4.50 (in room bar) The bathroom was very modern, the bed...

This is a very popular JW and my review is a bit going against the grain, but I don't want that to deter me from providing another perspective for those trying to choose the best resort destination for their own personal needs and interests. It's definitely a large and beautiful campus. Very spread out, which has its advantages and disadvantages....
