We've sadly just returned from a week staying at Seabreeze resort and we could not have asked for a better break. Flights to Samoa from Brisbane do not operate on a great schedule - hours arrived in Samoa at 3.15am! The boys from Seabreeze were there to greet us as we came through customs and soon had us bumping down the road for the 1 1/2 hr transfer to the resort. Traffic problems have yet to find Samo, and at the stupid hour of arrival, the only other things sharing the road were pigs, sleeping dogs, the odd cow and a few horses - all handled skilfully by our driver as he sang along to Samoan reggae themed Christmas carols. ( Samoans love to sing - they do it well, and they did it pretty much all the time). Arriving at the resort just as dawn was breaking was tonic for the soul. (Side note to the website design - the photos DO NOT do justice to what greeted us). The resort sits in its own private cove, which makes for a very intimate and private space. We stayed in one of the Deluxe Beach Front Villas. These villas are very spacious, With a roomy main room with king bed and divan opening onto a large covered deck. The views from the room are nothing short of amazing. ( again - the website doesn't to justice to this view). Perched right above the beach you get an uninterrupted view over the reef from the deck - and lying in bed through bifold doors that open onto a wrap around verandah. Separate bathroom and toilet - how many times have I wished our accommodation had this arrangement. The shower is amazing - right on the beach with louvres ( bottom half frosted glass) that makes it seem like you are showering outside. Our room ( as with the whole resort) was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean - which is no mean feat when you are perched right on the ocean. The resort pool has one of the best outlooks of any resort I have stayed in. This is not a big resort, so you will never be mobbed by the masses, and they have a no kid policy. The restaurant/bar shows how good simple design make the location the hero - views from every angle catching the sea breeze. Our included daily breakfast started with a fruit platter with yogurt and muesli. Followed by a limited selection of hot dishes.. So nice not to have a buffet breakfast and to have something freshly cooked. We loved the omelettes. We ate at the resort overnight and had the Tuna 3 out of 5 nights... it was that good. Perfectly cooked served with a selection of steamed then charred vegetables. There was a good selection on the menu - and wood fired pizza oven on Sunday ( looked good and would have loved to have been there to try). Dinner in the resort was on par price wise with what you would pay in a mid range restaurant in Australia ( but don't forget your forking you tuna, virtually sitting over the waves on one of the prettiest and more remote parts of the globe). Local beers are good (Valima for us). The resort has a modest selection of wines, and the Prosecco and Chardonnay we drank was perfectly fine. In my experience, cocktails depend on who makes them - no different here. My only tip to to the intending traveler is to bring your own stubby cooler ( one of the returning guests had packed appropriately. There could be few finer places to enjoy a cold beer while sitting in a pool looking out over the ocean - Samoa is hot and humid and our experience was that those beers tending to warm up pretty quickly. Somoa is not a cheap Bali-esque type of holiday. The trade off is that there are far fewer people, less overdevelopment and all-in-all, a much calmer vibe. We were talking on the way home that this was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had. If you are thinking of Samoa - I would certainly look at Seabreeze if you are after a small, quiet, calm stay. Things are pretty spread out in Samoa, my tip would be to hire a car. Driving is easy, and there are only about 3 roads on Upolu, so you can't go wrong.

Only stopped in for lunch on our travels but the food was delicious and the staff all very friendly and welcoming. Especially loved our cocktail in a coconut, and what an amazing outlook for lunch! Would happily come back and stay to experience the villas.

Loved our time at Seabreeze! The room was beautifully appointed. The extras were awesome. The pool was the best we had seen and we really enjoyed using the kayaks and the snorkeling. Loved the food, especially the fish and the umu!! The staff were great! My only gripe was that there were no bananas for 2 days, no pineapple and no noodles, all of which were readily available on the island!

Beautiful location, excellent staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Breakfasts in the Sea Breeze Restaurant were all delicious - lovely fruit platter to start each morning with yoghurt, bircher muesli and coconut juice to begin then a wonderful selection to choose from. The dinner menu was excellent from steak, fresh fish to hamburgers. A truely wonderful place to stay.

We loved it here and would go back in a heartbeat. Great staff, wonderful restaurant with a good variety of food, beautiful location, and comfortable accommodation. We appreciated that there are only 12 rooms and a no children policy. It was very peaceful.

We recently stayed for 6 nights, but could have stayed longer, overall a great experience, we had the honeymoon suite, which we thoroughly enjoyed, it was a little further away from the other bures, so gave us plenty of privacy. A very large and comfortable bed with top quality linens, a nice bathroom with an excellent view over the lagoon from the shower, plenty of room to store toiletries. A very large deck with comfortable chairs and double sun lounge with a spa pool. which was very nice. We used the resort pool every day and most days had it to ourselves, but of course there were other guests which we mingled with around the pool and at meals times. The restaurant had a wide selection of food for all meal types. Breakfast was included and started with fresh local fruit, muesli and yoghurt and then you could order off the menu made to order, I highly recommend the apple pancakes, delicious. For lunch you could order off the restaurant menu and have it at the pool bar, which was very convenient, I highly recommend the calamari for a light snack. Dinner was also very nice with lots to choose from and all the meals come hot. There was an included complimentary mini bar which was replenished daily and to your order or beer, wine and soft drink. It is a small resort, adults only and only 10 bures, which made it feel very intimate and cosy. The owners Chris and Wendy were very helpful and always on hand to answer any questions and help with local activities and car hire if required. I highly recommend Seabreeze and can't wait to come back

We went for my birthday, our first time in Samoa, and it won't be our last. Samoa is a truly wonderful and laid back tropical country, and the Seabreeze made it even more special. The team: owners Wendy and Chris, along with Salai, Lavea, Lua, Esther, Joe and Fa’ta and others made sure we had a great time. Gorgeous, clean, airy accommodation in one of the Deluxe Ocean View Villas, consistently some of the best food we ate from a kitchen who really care, a great wee bar in the pool with good cocktails, a beach that we were often the only ones swimming in with plenty of tropical fish and starfish. Friday night is 'local food and culture' and well worth it - always lovely to understand where one is, with delicious food. We've recommended it to many people who have all had the same experience. The Seabreeze has a no children policy, apart from visitors to the restaurant.

We only ate lunch here, but what a magnificent view. The food was ok, very over priced for the quality. But you don’t mind overpaying when the view is absolutely stunning!! I had an entree of garlic prawns, hubby had a hamburger, 1 serve of garlic bread and 2 mocktails for around $150 AUD. They were out of tuna and bananas 😳😳😳 unusual considering they’re for sale everywhere on the island!! Would love to stay on our next visit.

After having done some research on the best places to stay and relax in luxury in Samoa, Seabreeze Resort was my choice for 10 nights with my wife. Initial communications on the booking were all by email (usually with Wendy), and questions/arrangements were all quickly, clearly and easily dealt with. A clean, air conditioned people carrier with cold towels and chilled water were waiting for us on arrival at the airport in Samoa and a scenic 1.5 hour complementary (return) transfer to the resort then followed. From the start and consistently throughout our stay, all of the staff, including management/owners, housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff were fantastic. Always helpful, professional and polite. We stayed in one of the Ocean View Villas, which was well appointed and clean. An added bonus is the complementary mini bar that is well stocked with a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks upon arrival. The purpose of our stay was just to relax and Seabreeze is the perfect spot for that. Everything was just a short, warm walk away from our villa; pool, beach, pool bar, restaurant etc. We made good use of the free kayaks and snorkelling equipment but we really enjoyed the quiet, chilled atmosphere within the resort. I particularly liked the fact that only guests were able to have access beyond a certain point within the resort, which meant that the pool, sun loungers, pool bar and beach were for our exclusive use. Whereas the restaurant was open to visitors. Talking of which, the food at the restaurant was consistently delicious and of a really good standard. Views over the reef/beach from the restaurant are lovely and if the weather is fine, there are some tables available on an open deck. We took the resort's Meal Package, (NZD 95 pp per day) which meant that in addition to the complementary breakfast, we also had the option of a single course meal for lunch and two courses for dinner. I added this cost against what we actually ate during our stay and for us it is worked out as a good deal, although it does depend on the cost of the individual meals you eat. Wendy and Chris the owners, were lovely to deal with. I have to make special mention of Chris and his determination to fix an issue we encountered with the hot water system in our villa. The heater unit was swapped out three times before Chris was happy that our issue had been resolved and then he kept checking in for days afterwards to ensure that we were still happy. We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 night stay and I would have to really struggle to find any negatives worth mentioning - so I won't. Don' t miss: Samoan Cultural Session on Friday afternoons, Nearby (easy) walks to To Sua Ocean Trench and Vavau Beach and daily Happy Hour at the Pool Bar. I'd recommend Seabreeze to anyone who wants to stay in a beautifully appointed, well run and tranquil resort in Samoa. It's not cheap but it's certainly worth it.

Spent 8 nights at Seabreeze in the Turtle villa. The resort is beautiful and has everything you need. It was my Daughters 21st while we were there and the staff really spoilt her, they made her day very special! The staff are the best, so helpful and always smiling. Chris was very knowledgable, and gave us great recommendations of places to visit, we didn't get a rental car, just utilised the local taxi and booked a tour with the resort. The food at the restaurant was fantastic, everything we had was delicious. Also enjoyed the cultural evening the staff put on - the taro leaves with coconut cooked in the umu were a highlight. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.
