Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Tanu for 4 nights, after staying at Stevenson Manase. These are basic fales with matressess over looking beautful beach in Manase. The staff were very welcoming, Hanah and Sia were amazing right throughout our stay. The price you pay stay $80 tala adult $40 tala children under 12, under 5 stay free and breakfast and dinner is included, and the meals are amazing well worth it. Shared bathroom/toilet facilities always cleaned by staff.
Hanah and Sia are the best 👌 thank you so much to you and your staff for accomodating our family during our stay we will see you again next year.

We had the best time at Tanu Beach Fales!

Crystal clear, mirror like ocean views from the fales, with fish and turtles to swim with at the reef at your doorstep. Delicious homecooked, big meals at breakfast and dinner, with coffee for breakfast and lemon tea at night. Fales have mattresses and mosquito nets for comfort, and sleeping in the open air, with the breeze was beautiful for an afternoon nap and overnight. Bathrooms are basic, but you come to Manase to swim, eat, nap and relax! Staff are so welcoming and friendly, you feel like you were always meant to be there. Thank you!

Stayed 4 nights, could have stayed a lot longer. Very hospitable host, thanks Lina and family! I can see why people come back again years later, a memorable time. Beach fales are the way to go, and Tanu's have been doing it for years. Bit like the equivalent of glamping, but beach style. Communal basic bathrooms. Cold showers are the norm in Samoa, and its hot enough to not mind them at all. Filling delicious healthy Samoan style dinners and breakfasts with other guests so you meet other people.
Went to the church nearby (thanks for having us palangi's) where the music is heavenly.

I had made an email booking however no record of our reservation when we arrived. The staff were able to accommodate us but I wish they had declined our stay. Their staff were having their Xmas party the evening we stayed & were not prepared for us as guests. Dinner was supposed to be served at 7pm and we finally received our takeaway dinner after 8pm. Dinner was so disappointing and not appetising at all. The bathroom facilities are very basic and could do with an upgrade. Breakfast was also a sorry affair where we were asked if we want it in a takeaway container. We were given crackers, stale bread, fruit and a pancake. I wish the manager had just said they could not accommodate us rather than have us stay unprepared.

Loved my stay there. They understood my freedom, I used my tent to sleep while been able to use the awesome facilities, the beach is gorgeous and they treat you like family. If I come back, you'll be my first stop. Thanks so much!

Lovely location on Savai’i. We used Tanu Beach for training for a week. The Fales we’re comfortable and handled rain well. Lovely view out to the ocean. Close to the water and swimming and sunsets were amazing. Volleyball area
for fun also. Food was plentiful and tasty. The staff were always happy to assist. Recommended for training or a holiday.

Great spot to go for a swim and affordable. The dinner was very generous. The weather was a bit muggy and we found it hard to get a good night sleep but worth the experience. Probably not the greatest time to book during rain season but worth at least for one night.

A REAL Samoan experience! Slept Samoan style in a fale on the beach edge. Simple and clean and relaxing. Lovely staff. Fabulous meals; breakfast and dinner included. Convivial dining with all the other guests. Our second stay here - came here 22yrs ago and am pleased to say its just as good. . Would highly recommend if you want a 'Samoan' holiday. Thank you - we will be back. Keep up the good work

Lovely peaceful place with Fales right on the water's edge.White clean sandy beach fringed with Palm trees. Beach swept clean of debris each morning by staff. Stunning sunrises and sunsets from your fale.Basic accomodation with just a mattress, pillows and 2 sheets, mozzie net and light supplied, but somehow this is all you need. Breakfast and dinner included in modest price with all eating done communally at a long open air dining table where you are waited on by village staff. This is a family owned and operated business. No transport necessary. They will organise transfers to the ferry and take you on tours of the Island.Nice sea for snorkelling.

BEWARE: We had our wallet and all our money stolen in the middle of the night. Don't leave valuables in your fale.
We highly recommend the place otherwise.
