Both myself and my bestfriend came to Joelan for a 5 night stay on the recommendation of a friend. Although I heard nothing but good things, what I got when we arrived was way over what I expected. Falesoa, Sione and family were so welcoming and friendly. Even took us to the markets and the shops when they were making...

After an overnight flight from Australia and hopping on the first ferry over to Upolu, Joelan graciously welcomed my partner and I to our two week Samoan getaway. Being our first stop for our holiday, we were happy to relax in our fale most of our stay (2 nights). Lapping up the sounds of the gentle waves along the sand...

Wow! Joelan fales were everything we hoped for and more. The family who run this place are so lovely and so ridiculously accommodating it was really difficult to leave! We spent 4 nights here without travelling more than about 500 metres in either direction, it was just too perfect to leave! The food is abundant and truly Samoan. I didn't...

Fa’afetai lava to hosts Falesoa, Sione and their aiga for helping to make our time in Samoa a wonderful one that we will remember fondly for years to come. Falesoa said from the outset that Joelan’s doesn’t have guests – she refers to her visitors as part of the family. Falesoa meant what she said, as we felt like we...

Joelans Beach Fales is the best fale stay on Savaii. They are real value for money AND food is included - FABULOUS meals too. Buffet style so you can eat more or less depending on your appetite. The fales are basic but right on the beach and they have a fiafia night every week. The hosts are superb and really...

The location of Joelan's is stunning - simple fales on a white sand beach overlooking a crystal clear lagoon. Waking up to the sunrise each morning is a pleasure (even for us non morning folk). Fale Soa, her husband Sione and her daughters are warm, friendly and generous hosts who make sure you are well fed and comfortable in your...

Unfortunately we only had one night here, although as a couple in our mid fifties, we realistically would stay maximum 3 nights. The beach is gorgeous and the water warm ++. We loved spotting a turtle as we sat looking out from our fale. Breakfast lunch and dinner is included and the quality of the meals was fantastic. We are...

We stayed for 11 nights in a open beach fale. Best decision ever made. It was the most relaxing holiday in a long time. Very much Samoan way of life. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included is just perfect. That meens that you can spend your days swimming, tanning, reading, frisbee or volleyball and never have to leave the place. We...

We had the best time ever: the view is just incredible, the water is like a swimming pool, the owners are very nice and the food is yummy. Every afteroon we got coconuts and we spent our holiday chilling and swimming. I would like to be there again now!

“The open fales are great and really allow the breeze to come through and make it very comfortable. There are shades that you can lower that are good at keeping the rain out and can provide shade when the sun comes up.”
