We arrived to find our room was not the one we paid for, we were 3 big guys forced to sleep on one bed because every other room was occupied (which was also not true, early next morning we saw the majority of the rooms were empty) Fine, things happen, and after about 20 minutes of debating, the lady said...

Very friendly staff and very hot showers! But there are two different locations for the same hostel, so we ended up staying at another place without the hammocks and green area. The kitchen is not very well equipped.

It is located very near the center of this small town, near the streets full of tour agencies. The hostel is quiet and has hammocks for you to relax on your free day without activity. The only bad thing is that the upper bed is very high. So if you have to sleep on it, you have to be careful...

Private rooms and dorms. Fully equipped kitchen. Clean. Friendly folks from around the world. Good Wi-Fi. Great location. Help with travel plans to local attractions. I am 64 and found the dorms at $8 a night really comfortable. There are many restaurants close by, or cook your own food in the kitchen.

I would definitely recommend staying here: the hostel has a nice common area with kitchen and fireplace.. great to hang out! The staff is very nice and helpful. The laundry service is incredibly fast. On some days they have Canelazo (spelling mistakes included).. a typical Ecuadorian drink. So I can definitely recommend staying here

This hostal looks really colourful and has a nice common area. Nice and helpfull staff that speaks a little English. Our room was on the kitchen site where the fireplace is. It was quiet in the morning but music and chatter in the evening. The noise stops at 23.00 so it's not that bad. You can here the street sounds...

I think that the private rooms are a lot nicer than the dorms that smells like mold and had no window. However the room and bathroom was cleaned daily and the fireplace was nice. If it's not too cold in Baños this place might be a good place to meet people, as the common areas are all outdoors.

This hostel was awesome! Santa Cruz is one of the cleanest paces I've stayed. It had a great common area with a fireplace and hammocks. The staff was awesome, especially Enrique, who didn't speak much english but made us feel so welcome; he makes amazing cocktails! The showers were actually hot, the wifi was good, the kitchen was well stocked...

Stayed here for 5 nights and was although happy. Costs you 8$ in a 4 person dorm with attached bathroom. They have a lovely common area with beers, sodas, kitchen, computer, firepit, games and lots of hammocks. The guys who stayed there with me were nice as well. Absolutely reccomendable.. If you are looking for a cheap option, don't follow...

“There are two buildings to the hostel, the one with reception is normally a bit noisier, it has the dorms and the bar, if you're looking for a quieter stay the rooms on the other side, particularly one floor up are pretty peaceful and you get a great view! They also have a private double room with a shared bathroom that is great value being the same price as the dorms!”
