The hotel is fine but not for four stars. It is a noisy hotel, there is no good soundproofing of the rooms. Breakfast is fine but not much variety. The baked goods are not fresh and the coffee is not machine. The heated pool is very nice. The food in the restaurant is very good. The staff, in general, is very good but the cleaning staff speaks loudly in the corridors over the intercoms and prevent a good rest. Personal hygiene products as well as towels were not replenished and on two occasions we had to request them. The gym is basic and so is the spa. Location-wise, while close to downtown, the uphill road back can be a difficult one for seniors if they don’t move by car.

The hotel is located at the top of a hill (only a 400m climb) at the end of the main street in the city of el calafate. Large hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. The hotel restaurant serves a variety of a la carte dishes at affordable prices. Large lobby with only 1 computer for guest use. Very intermittent Wi-Fi, not that good. The problem with the corridors where the rooms are is that people arrive late and make a lot of noise and children run around. This is quite annoying. Heating worked well in the room and throughout the hotel, we came in winter and felt hot! It has a beautiful view of the snow-filled mountains. It's quite windy at the entrance. The nearest market is 1.4km away. You can walk to the center without any problems. Excellent choice

The Lagos del Calafate is a short taxi ride from the town center (only costs 1.70 EUR per ride). The taxi ride to the airport costs 18,000 ARS, which is far too much. We actually wanted to stay at the Posado los Alamos, but the reservation system at the Posado is totally chaotic, whereas the one at the Lagos worked perfectly. The big disadvantage of the Lagos is that it is very noisy. The architect who designed the hotel definitely doesn't have much experience in the industry. There is no insulation at all. And the number of sockets in the room (and their placement) is also borderline. Added to this is the large number of very naughty children who cause trouble with their "milk cries" until late at night. And the cheeky kids also cause terror in the pool. I simply allowed myself to speak to my friends at the same volume as the stupid kids, and the kids quickly looked at us in shock and left the pool area with their parents (who didn't care at all about their kids' behavior in public). And so we were finally able to relax our muscles - which had been strained by the long trip to Perito Moreno - in the highlight of the Lagos - the wonderful indoor pool!

On the plus side the hotel is well located for a reasonable walk to and from town for dining or shopping. This is important since Uber is not available and walking is a nice alternative to arranging taxis. On the down side the rooms can be very warm in the summer. Ours had an air conditioner and although it had a water leak, we were happy to have the unit available since our room would otherwise be miserably hot. We think our room was extra hot, as were others in our entire hallway according to neighbors. due to proximity to the spa. Neither of the other two rooms for our group had air conditioners but the front desk was able to provide fans upon request. A big shout out to Walter for helping. We wish we knew about fans on the first night since it was very hot for the rest of the family. The property did have some water supply issues, beyond their control, that were tied to city municipal system repairs. The hotel did their best to maintain consistent water supply, via their back-up systems, through most of our stay. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was underwhelming. Diners may wish to be very cautious with fresh milk that may sit out for a long period and not be chilled, or other perishable food items at the buffet, that could cause problems due to long open exposure to warm dining room conditions for long time spans .

An excellent hotel. We booked directly with the hotel to ensure the room we wanted, which was spacious, comfortable with a very good hydro bathtub, good heating, bed, pillows, cleanliness, in short, super happy. Sometimes we ate in the restaurant and other times in the room due to fatigue. Gerónimo prepared me some very good drinks and treated me very warmly. The large pool must be warned about temperature changes and the issue of hot water because it is coming from cold excursions. Very good breakfast. Very good price for an excellent hotel. The center is a couple of blocks away but a taxi is not expensive at all otherwise you don't want to walk. I highlight price quality!

We stayed during the August long weekend with my husband and my 8-year-old son. The hotel is beautiful no matter how you look at it, it has a very complete games room for children of all ages; At the same time, it has a beautiful heated pool with a super wide time slot. The only drawback is that the towels are removed and left in the pool and the routes to some rooms are very far away. You should be able to have bathrobes in the rooms during your stay; The rooms are super comfortable, they have an electric kettle, but what they have against them is that they don't even leave a tea or coffee bag so that one can make one at night, especially in these cold times. Separate point to the breakfast, one of the most complete I have seen. It is located 5, where the shopping center begins. I definitely recommend it and would choose it again.

Very comfortable hotel, with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains, a huge pool, very good breakfast and super attention from all the employees! The heating can be adjusted individually in the room which is fantastic as it tends to get too hot in each room. It's not far to walk to the center but you should keep in mind that the last stretch has a small slope and the entrance street is not paved... especially because of the footwear to be used.

Very good rooms, box spring, sheets. The breakfast service is very varied in sweet and savory, and fruits, juices, cafeteria. The heated pool is a great success after a day of hiking in the cold. Excellent aesthetics and decoration.

The hotel is very well located, has an amazing view. It is unpayable to have a heated pool and sauna in the hotel after a long day of cold and snow. Very complete in terms of facilities, it is a relief to be able to dine at the hotel. The chef and the waiters super attentive and all very friendly. We would like the next one to respect the Do Not Disturb sign that we hang on the door, as the cleaning staff also enter to replenish the bathroom supplies. On the other hand it would be advisable for travelers to request a cup of tea at any time, as we were told it was only until 11.30pm. Taking these two observations we had very good experience and we really liked the hotel.

It is a very good choice of 4 stars. The service is friendly and warm. The pool is spacious and very well heated. The restaurant could offer a better timing, there is delay between each order, but the menu is very interesting, with various options, both dishes and drinks. Having the Piatelli winery indicates that there is a careful search behind.

Saludos y buen viaje.
