Kosten Aike receives accolades for its unique and traditional decor, with guests enjoying the cozy common areas complete with fireplaces and games. The spacious, comfortable rooms contribute to the hotel's appealing atmosphere, though a few have noted soundproofing could be improved. Nestled in a central location, Kosten Aike is moments away from local shopping and attractions, and most guests are pleased with the ease of access.
The cleanliness of the hotel garners positive remarks, as does the friendly and professional service. Reviewers also value the comprehensive amenities, including the spa and eco-friendly practices, and consider the hotel to provide good value for its offerings.

As a travel guide for the tour operator Master Tours/Anders dan Anders, it is quintessence that you always listen to the comments of your travel companions. I summarize the reactions of our recent stay: the surprising "homely" feeling, the honest concern of the entire staff and the constant presence of the owner/manager who ensures that all customers are served at their beck and call. The rooms are spacious, neat and the integration of the Tehuelche symbolism in the textiles gives a "Patagonian" feeling. The breakfast buffet is a gem and the quality of the bread, media lunas, cakes, etc. is excellent. Everything comes straight from Kosten Aike's own bakery. The picnic lunches that the hotel prepares for the day's excursions are also recommended: freshly prepared and complete. Let us not forget the central location: Kosten Aike is barely 250 meters from the central shopping street. After the excursion, travelers can turn the corner and enjoy a kind of après ski feeling.

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel. The location was very central to banks, restaurants and convenience shops. The breakfast had a wide variety of food types and we could ask to refill our water bottles.
For one day, the hotel organised a pack lunch for us to take on a tour, and it contained a plastic water bottle, fruit & nuts inside plastic bag, sandwich and an apple.
It was enjoyable to observe the many black-faced ibises roaming in the hotel’s lawn and the buff-tailed bumblebees on the lavender plants.
One evening, we enjoyed the pleasant jacuzzi and received two great massage services by Maria.
After we left, they contacted us to say that we had forgotten a few items, which is the first time we see a hotel being proactive in that respect, especially after a recent bad experience at another hotel.
In terms of sustainability, which the hotel claims to abide by its principles, I noticed and asked about their waste disposal facilities, which is more than most places are doing in the town. They collect and donate soda bottle tops to a school who transforms those into useful items for the local community.
In the bathroom, It was good to finally flush toilet paper down the toilet rather than place it in a bin, like everywhere other facility. Also, they did not leave the plug in the bath, to avoid wastage of water. It was a shame to find out that their few solar panels had recently broken down.
For improvement, I would hope they are planning to have refillable toiletries instead of the four small tubes of plastic. Moreover, the lights throughout the hotel and especially the corridors could be on motion sensor rather than being switched on during day time. Hopefully, water harvesting is also on their plans.

The hotel was characterized by excellent staff, individual service and great hospitality. In addition to a good breakfast buffet, they also have a great kitchen that leaves nothing to be desired. The central location in the town of El Calafate is also an advantage.
Would definitely come back!

Let's say that the Calafate area works only between October and April when the glacier parks are open, so everyone takes great advantage of the tourist season. Prices are quite high, and the euro - pesos exchange rate does a lot. The hotel is in a beautiful structure with a nice garden, the rooms are spacious breakfast is varied there is a bit 'for everyone, for an approximate price of 170 euros per night. They exchange euros and dollars with "appropriately" unfavorable exchange rates, but as mentioned the alternatives are scarce so if needed at least it can be done. They also prepare packed lunches for those who visit the glacier, no big deal, just to avoid queuing in the park bar. The bar inside the property just right for a coffee, the food leaves something to be desired. In conclusion it is a hotel without infamy and without praise.

Our stay at Hotel Kosten Aike was fabulous. The staff was very friendly, the environment was very cozy and beautiful, you can see that they are very meticulous, as everything was sparkling and impeccable!! The location is excellent too, 1 block from the main avenue. The breakfast was plentiful and with many options (breads, scrambled eggs, cakes, fruit salad, cereals, yogurts, among others). The hotel also has a restaurant, sauna, gym and whirlpool, which we didn't use due to lack of time. We were a couple and we received a room on the 3rd floor which was huge, so we really approved, we would definitely come back!!

In the area just off the main Avenida, 2 steps from all the shops and restaurants, this old hotel welcomes its guests in an old Spanish hotel style environment with lots of wood and fireplaces in the large hall where there are many lounges to stay comfortable while waiting for the guides or to also enjoy the small well-kept garden inside. its rooms on 2 floors are also old style, TV in the room without Rai channels, small bathroom with shower in the tub and some problems with the hot water losing pressure and you always have to reopen the tap a lot which then makes strange noises ! There is no air conditioning but even in El Calafate it is hot during the day and keeping the windows open, as well as the mosquitoes, a lot of noises from cars and broken down motorbikes come in...... Apart from this the staff is quite friendly, the breakfast does not have fresh bread but good quality fruit and particular local jams such as calafate. In short, well maintained and very clean but needs modernization.

The double bed is a soccer field big, the shower is great, with a lot of pressure. It is two blocks from the center and the breakfast is sublime. The good thing is that breakfast starts at 6 in the morning, which is important if you want to go on all-day excursions. They also offer very complete meals at a corresponding price.

We stayed two nights here during a trip to Patagonia. The rooms were fine, clean and reasonable. The location is good as you can easily walk to the main streets in the town and also the bird refuge is nearby. The included breakfast was reasonable, but nothing special.

Well located, nice service, clean, spacious room, rich breakfast (missing fruit) but quite complete. They provide food for the excursions, which are cheaper and more convenient so as not to waste time shopping at the shelters. I recommend it.

The Kosten Aike has everything you need to feel at home. Spacious and equipped rooms with beautiful views. The breakfast was excellent and everyone's attention was very good. It is ideal for its location near the shopping street and at the same time it is a quiet area to sleep well after a day of excursions.
