Estancia Cristina has a unique position in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. A luxury stay in the middle of nowhere. Not cheap, but you pay for what you get: pickup at your hotel of origen, boat trip with a VIP deck for people staying at the lodge. A warm welcome by the team and a superb 3-course lunch to start with. Food quality: excellent. The rooms are spacious and modern. All rooms are connected to sattelite WiFi these days (no cellular signal during your stay). The guides to the excursions are skilled and friendly - obviously don’t miss the Cañadón de los Fósiles trip with the Uppsala glacier lookout point. All-in-all a great experience.

Estancia Cristina is possibly the best experience in all of Argentina’s Patagonia region. The boat ride to get there is an epic crossing on Lago Argentino, passing through Boca del Diablo towards Brazo Upsala, where fantastical icebergs float around the milky-turquoise water. The crew let the boat gently sway up close to the immense chunks of calved glaciers, giving everyone a chance to get an unforgettable photo. Rocìo, our guide on board the boat was super friendly and full of knowledge and geological information of the region. The lunch provided was plentiful and we even managed to have cups of mate without spilling any in the rocky crossing. We were welcomed onto the estancia’s private deck by Barbara, who was so enthusiastic and warm towards everyone. The Octagon (main building) are filled with soft ranch-style textiles and décor and it’s a super cosy place to sit with a coffee or a matte (!), and the rooms have a beautiful homely feeling to them. Our best experience was a full day of horse-trekking with a gaucho, Mateo, where we crossed valleys, waded through rivers and ate beef grilled by Mateo in a little hut by Lake Pearson. Estancia Cristina is truly a special place (their museum gives a wonderful insight into the long history of the ranch) and I’d recommend staying for as many days as you can spare. We loved every minute. Many thanks for a wonderful stay, Anna and Jenna

Let me first say….the physical beauty of the property and the surrounding area is overwhelming!
From the moment you stepped on board their catamaran, gliding past glaciers and the icebergs that have escaped from them, to riding horseback miles up into the hills, to stepping out of the 4x4 and climbing to an unforgettable view of the glaciers and the Andes, you can’t beat this place.
The rooms are simple but comfortable. The common building (the Octagon) is very comfortable and fine for dining. The food is good, but a little limited if you are there for several days. The guides we had (only two of them in our three days) were outstanding. The horses were great for riding in the hills.
The only thing that keeps me from giving a five star review was something both perplexing and yet seemingly so easy to fix. The on-site staff seemed to miscommunicate with the guests repeatedly over the three days we were there. Not just with us but the other guests staying there at the same time (and there were only about a dozen total). From scheduling and other information about the activities to the heating in the rooms, to the choices for meals and departure times, it seemed to happen at least a couple times every day. The staff was always apologetic but it just made for some awkward times. It seems like it could be cleaned up easily and in my opinion would certainly deserve the five stars!

It is a great place. You go there by boat - separate seating area - not together with the day visitors. Nice views from the boat. Very spacious and clean rooms with a nice view. Food is very good. Nice activities : we did a relaxing horse back ride in the valley crossing rivers (no experience needed) and a half day trek to Cerro Carnero with a nice guide. However , we booked two nights to be able to have a full day to do the fossil canyon walk. We had plenty of time, only one other guest with us, so no reason to rush. Unfortunately we had Speedy Gonzalez as guide: rushing all the time, walking 10 meters in front of us , not waiting when we stopped to make pictures, there are only a few places with nice fossils but she stopped only 2 minutes. So she spoiled our day ; the only reason I could imagine to be in such a hurry, was to be back to watch Argentina playing in the afternoon in the second round of the World Cup.

If you crave the remoteness and beauty of Patagonia and stay in the stunning glacier national park, but still want to be looked after by genuine, caring people look no further. Every effort was made to ensure that our stay was special, activities were offered on a tailored basis and nothing was too much trouble. Location is beautiful, staff very friendly. Food wonderful and included in their price. Fossil canyon is not to be missed, although the trek is challenging, the guide made sure to keep the pace according to ability. Be aware though that there is limited Wi-Fi. Only those who wish to experience the joys of going almost off grid will truly appreciate this place.

Beyond the breathtaking beauty that defines Estancia Cristina is the ease with which you will enjoy your time there. We experienced perfectly prepared meals, benefited from thoughtful and informative guides for every activity, and were surrounded by a staff of warm and friendly individuals. You will leave feeling refreshed, energized, and cared for. After 28 days of traveling in Argentina, we reflect back on our two nights there as some of our favorite memories.

We have had a beautiful time at Estancia Cristina. This is definitely the highlight of our trip to Argentina. The hospitality and care for the guests is tremendous. The meals are world class dining, the activities (hikes (guided and self guided) and horseback riding) are fantastic and the rooms and common areas are so relaxing and welcoming. The staff care for the history of the inn and the ecology of the National Park. We cannot imagine that there is any room for improvement. If we could rate this experience 10 out of 5, we would!

A very, very special place to visit… delicious food and attentive, knowledgeable staff. The hiking provided amazing views of glaciers and the Surrounding mountains as well as geologic wonders in the fossil canyon. We also enjoyed the horse back ride along the River valley, where we saw salmon on their way upriver. The rooms were very comfortable with beautiful views. And the Asado (barbecue) was a treat.

Accessible only by boat and within the National Park, Estancia Cristina offers a unique experience of sleeping in luxury in the middle of some amazing scenic beauty. Rooms are nice, with a thoughtful bay window seat looking directly at Cerro Norte. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. There are lots of options for hiking and horseback riding, but the most enjoyable activities are just taking in the beauty of this part of the world. Go out at night to see one of the most amazing night skies anywhere. The entire experience of getting here and being here is unique!

We stayed in Cristina (2 nights) and Chalten (3 nights), hiking in both places. The hikes are very different but both extremely beautiful. More sweeping views of glaciers, mountains, and steppe at Cristina, but close up views of mountains in Chalten (Laguna de los Tres was a huge challenge but with a huge reward...can't recommend that hike highly enough). The boat ride to Cristina was a treat in itself...bright blue water, snow capped peaks, floating icebergs, and remote nothingness that was unique and just stunning. I recommend trying to get to both places if possible.
Hi M15! Exactly! The activity combine the 4x4 ride till the Upsala Viewpoint and then the Trekking through the Cañadón de los Fosiles. It takes between 4 and 5 hours and it finish at the Estancia. Regards, Estancia Cristina staff.
