Hotel Llao Llao is an excellent choice for families or those looking to rest.
It has beautiful views of the lakes and mountains, especially from the common areas. It offers beautiful views of the lakes and mountains, especially from Lake Moreno, where you can enjoy free activities such as kayaking, paddle tennis and fishing. There are also boat rides at extra cost.
The hotel has a spacious and comfortable reading room. Although close to the bar, which generates some noise, especially in the late night show.
The pool, overlooks the golf course, but is a bit noisy for the presence of families and children. The hotel also has a sauna and showers, which are available at all times and are very well maintained.
The hotel offers a number of free activities, including sports classes and hiking, although it is necessary to book in advance as there are limited quotas and they sell out quickly. It also has a well-equipped gym.
As for the rooms, the hotel is undergoing renovation, so some rooms are more modern than others. We were assigned a renovated room, with minimalist and modern design, with shower (instead of bathtub) that makes it feel cleaner and more comfortable. The older rooms, do not have the same freshness, although my relatives had no complaints. Overall, I recommend opting for remodeled rooms, the mattress is comfortable and the space is enough.
The staff was very helpful. In particular, the breakfast service was excellent, with very friendly and attentive staff.
Breakfast has a variety of options for all tastes. The restaurants for dinner are also very good. Patagonia, restaurant, has varied menu of local dishes. Tea service, on the other hand, did not surprise me, as the variety of teas is limited and desserts were not exceptional, taking into account the price.

We booked Llao Llao on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. The setting is spectacular built in the magnificent Nahuel Huapi National Park. Like the town of Bariloche, the hotel looks like it belongs in the Swiss Alps and has a very interesting history. We had a stunning suite in the Moreno wing with uninterrupted views across the lake and Mt. Tronador. A small sitting room with the view and a nice patio/balcony. Good sized bedroom with comfy bed/pillows and excellent wardrobe space. The bathroom was large with a jacuzzi bath with a picture window with the same view, double sinks and a very decent shower.
Check-in and the concierge service was excellent (big shout out to Patricio). Breakfast was of a good standard although it was awfully busy, irrespective of the time we went. Views from this room are breathtaking especially if you are lucky enough to be seated at the window tables.
The BBQ (Argentino) restaurant (in the dining room where breakfast is served) was not available during our stay as it was booked for a corporate event. So we had a choice of the lobby bar or the Patagonia. The Patagonia is a cosy Swiss chalet-style room with pine furniture and chintz fabrics. Small niggle re the lighting which was a little stark - more canteen than intimate dining room. The menu is short but we each selected a good starter and main and opted for the excellent Llao Llao house red. Service was a little perfunctory ( bored but very competent) and we thought it expensive for the standard of food. The lobby bar was buzzy with live music on 2 nights so lovely for a cosy drink after dinner. Service in the bar was very good but the food menu is limited. Again, the food was OK and quite expensive.
In summary, spectacular hotel in a spectacular location and I would return in a heartbeat. It is such a pity that the food is so average.

Staying at Llao Llao is a magical and unique experience, not only because of its incredible location at the foot of the lake, but because of all its services and the beauty of the building. From the moment you walk through the door you feel like you are in a story surrounded by carpets, lamps and living rooms. As for the food, it is exquisite and the attention to the details of the kitchenware is a pleasure for the senses, from the coffee, the breakfast or the delicious wines and meats. Tasting tea at the Winter Garten is an experience in itself, although a bit expensive. On the other hand, the spa area is spectacular since soaking in the heated pool while you look at the mountains and the lake is superb. The activities can be carried out endlessly, from walks, archery or gymnastics. I have to thank Fernando for the pleasant company during the walk and for showing us a little more about this beautiful place in Argentine Patagonia.

Excellent staff. Breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner Excellent in all environments and both in the Argentine Restaurant, as well as in Winter Garden and relaxing dinner at the Patagonia Restaurant. Excellent rooms in the Wing where I stayed, golf course in very good condition. The boat ride takes you to peace, the grills are truly fabulous, the hallways are soft carpeted, and the staff is attentive to everything... The heated pool is a delight. The Egyptian cotton sheets are totally soft, as are the "slippers." What's in the room? From the Ala Bustillo, where I stayed, there is a great view both day and night since you can see the lights of Cerro Otto and the Campanario in addition to the reflection of the lights of the city of Bariloche. I arrived 5 hours before check-in time and I was still able to enjoy all the services and those hours were given to me by the hotel, thanks to that I was able to go play golf and then change in my room with an impressive view of the lake at the end. in front and the mountains to the right, and then go down to lunch. To go to each excursion I took, I had a Mercedes Benz as a driver whose driver was extremely correct. It didn't matter what time I wanted to go out, whether during the day or at dawn. I recommend trying all the sauces or dressings, and buying (something that was given to me) as a souvenir the embroidered bathroom exit so you have the game with the slippers. Many excursions, as a guest of LLao-LLao, are free of charge. You can enjoy, if you like, the bicycles that the Resort provides to guests. The pink salmon is incomparable, the caviar a delight whether alone or accompanying canapes. I was lucky enough to meet several people from the artistic and sports environment during my stay who also enjoyed "being calm" and away from the hustle and bustle of success. The lighting fixtures made with deer ornaments are beautiful, as is everything that decorates the lobby. I didn't step on the hallway carpets in any other resort. If you want to have an experience to remember go to Llao-Llao, if, like me, you are looking for the best, Llao-Llao offers you everything you want. You pay for comfort and the Llao-Llao is worth it.-

Beautiful place to visit, but would not recommend staying. After trekking through the mountains we were excited for our luxurious stay to celebrate our honeymoon. However, we quickly discovered that this hotel is living on reputation and history rather than curating special experiences and delivering 5 star hospitality. The hotel is essentially split into two - renovated rooms for $1200 per night (the 5 Star portion) and rooms as low as $350 a night (would rate 2-3 star). Despite drastic room differences the entire hotel is marketed as a 5 star experience, which it’s not. Dated rooms have small windows with bad airflow, old mattress and pillows, stained carpets, thin walls allowing you to hear neighbors plumbing, and tired bathrooms. After expressing our dissatisfaction we were offered an upgraded room of the same quality for a discounted nightly rate. Ultimately, we opted to leave and find more suitable accommodations with higher hospitality quality. We were reimbursed one night after staying only 3 hours of a 3 night stay. There is so much potential and the views and location is spectacular so definitely worth a visit.

The worst hotel experience of my life. I booked a standard room for our last day since we were coming from a week of trekking in La Angostura. They gave me a kind of attic with a small window that looked towards a wall and a ceiling. The mattress was dirty, you could feel the springs. The pillow with the wadding (yes, it was wadding) all caked together. They didn't give us robes, I called to ask and they brought me some very old ones with the straps hanging down, towels frayed. We arrived right at check-in time, the room was not ready and they sent us to "take a look" supposedly the hotel makes its own chocolates, they didn't leave a single one on the pillow, just a cardboard telling us to take care of the water. The cold room had a down jacket with scratches from being used and a blanket that looked like the ones they give on airplanes. I went to complain about the state of the mattress and they told me that they couldn't change it because there was no room of the category that I paid for. But in take off and the hotel's website there were superior rooms for less than what I had paid. They wanted to go but if I left they would charge me the full amount. $300 dollars. When I left and had already authorized the payment, I told them that I had had a terrible experience and their response was to offer me a late check out in another room. I had changed my flight to have a day in Bariloche and see the hill. Due to tiredness due to not having slept the night before, I couldn't go and slept all afternoon in the room they had offered me. The flight change had cost me quite a bit of money. Needless to say, breakfast is not what you see on the internet. Don't expect brand name salmon or yogurt. Just very yogurt in a glass. At the Patagonia restaurant we spent 80,000 for a risoto, a children's menu, 2 beers, a coke and a coffee. In the end they didn't charge us for that and they gave me a 12% discount. I stay for 245,000 a night in a horror room. The pool was cold and couldn't be held, only the jacuzzi was hot, so we didn't enjoy that either. We had beautiful days in Villa La Angostura and this ruined our anniversary. We reserved the room a month in advance for $300 dollars. I don't recommend it, only the expensive rooms have linen like people do. The room where they moved me had a feather pillow. And that attic should not exist in a hotel that calls itself 5 stars.

Excellent hotel, with fantastic service located in a paradise. Surrounded by lush nature, with lots of space. The room is exceptional, and in winter it has adequate heating to make you feel comfortable. There are a series of activities, including a walk recommended at 11:00 am.

If ever I wanted to give a 5 star review it would have been for this visit. The Llao Llao hotel is somewhere I had wanted to visit for a very long time. However in some ways the Llao Llao is a reflection of Argentina as a whole in 2025 - incredible potential that somehow falls short of what it could truly be.
First the positives - 1) the location and setting are truly stunning. The hotel’s placement and the grounds are amazing.
2) views from the lobby bar, breakfast room, winter garden, pool and Moreno bar are truly 5 star. The pool on a warm summer day is incredible.
3) the front office team was excellent in responding to our concerns with respect to our first room and provided us with an alternative room.
4) the wait staff was largely very friendly and helpful even though at times they were a bit inattentive.
5) the evening entertainment was very good and lasted well into the evening. The hotel is pretty far from town so having nightly entertainment is a big plus.
6) while somewhat expensive, I really enjoyed the drinks from the bar. A big thumbs up to the whole lobby bar team!
7) while I didn’t play, the golf course looked nice and was truly wide open for play every time I looked.
8) access to the lake and park boat tours is great. All you need to do is walk down the hill and you are at the park marina.
The negatives -
1) the classic rooms are really dated at this moment. My first room was more like a converted attic rather than a true hotel room. Hopefully the ongoing renovation will make things better.
2) the food doesn’t really correspond to 5 star expectations at the current time. It was okay, but I never really said “wow” regarding anything I ate.
3) Bariloche proper is quite far and it’s even further to the airport. This in some ways isn’t really a negative but is something any potential guest should consider.
4) much has been written about the prices at the hotel being high for the region. This is 100% correct but in some ways I can understand it as the number of rooms in the hotel when compared to staffing levels and overall property size.
The bottom line -
Am I glad that I stayed at the Llao Llao? Most certainly. Would I stay again? I am not sure without better knowledge of the room renovation status. I would also most definitely want to rent a car to mitigate some of the issues of feeling isolated.
A better question is should you stay there? I would say yes as the experience at the Llao Llao is definitely unique and the pros, at least for me, outweigh the cons.

A dream. We went to have tea (you can choose between a full tea service, or have something from the menu) and we came back delighted. The property is super well maintained, inside a very typical and elevated decoration, they serve you first class. A luxury. Make a reservation in advance!

While I can’t deny that Llao Llao is set against stunning scenery and offers delicious (albeit very expensive, comparable to Manhattan prices) dining options, that’s where the positives end. I’ve stayed in 5-star hotels worldwide, and this one left me cold.
1. Room missing basic amenities: Our room had no room-darkening shades, just a thin translucent curtain. The opaque set of curtains were immovable and didn’t cover the window, so the sun woke us up every day. Definitely not a restful experience.
2. Uncomfortable bedding: The linens were stiff, heavily starched, and crackled with movement. No fluffy duvets, just a basic blanket sandwiched between the sheets—far from the comfort you expect at a luxury hotel.
3. Chaotic breakfast: I had to walk around to flag down waitstaff for coffee and utensils. It was more frustrating than relaxing.
4. Nickel and diming at every turn: The worst part. After housekeeping threw out our disposable water bottles (which we planned to refill for a hike since the hotel has water stations), we were charged an outrageous 6,500 ARS for a replacement plastic disposable bottle. Considering the hefty resort fee of 36,000 ARS, it’s appalling that basic necessities like water aren’t included which are commonplace at 5-star hotels. It felt like they were squeezing every dollar from guests.
I know that heads of state and U.S. presidents have stayed here, but unless you’re a VIP of that level, I’d recommend finding a more welcoming and accommodating hotel—where you’re treated like a guest, not just a dollar sign.

I found them most responsive via email prior to and during our stay using the email address on their website. I cannot attach it here as TripAdvisor does not allow me to include website links. I would not expect a response from TripAdvisor as you have sent the question to me the reviewer! To be fair, the hotel is busy but they dealt with all my queries before we arrived and also during our stay. I did not find them chaotic at all.
