The apartment is cute, clean and very comfortable, with an amazing view (no need to go to any viewpoint). It is very well located especially for the small circuit area. The attention of Tania and the rest of the team was very attentive. We will definitely come back!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week and this hotel stood out amongst all of our accommodations throughout our trip in South America. Juan and Gonzalo went above and beyond to make us feel at home and make our stay in Bariloche a memorable one. We arrived late at night because of many flight delays. Restaurants were no longer open so Juan made us a pizza and gave us snacks and beverages as well. We celebrated a birthday as well during our stay and Juan organized to have cake with a candle in the morning. Gonzalo booked us all amazing restaurants so we didn’t have to worry about waiting for a table and the restaurant choices were superb. I highly recommend this hotel. Both staff gave great advice too as to what we should do for our daily excursions. Choose this hotel! You won’t find better! We hope to return and will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bariloche.

Excellent place. Super personalized attention from Tania, Maxi and Lucas. The cabins are very comfortable as advertised. Cleaning is very good. The breakfast is incredible and they bring it to your room. It is located at KM 7 by Pioneros. It is to go with a car. Really a very nice place. SUPER RECOMMENDED. I would definitely go again.

We spent two nights in this beautiful property. The rooms are very well put together, clean and modern, with all the services one could require,. The view from all the rooms was like a Bariloche postcard. The personal service was excellent. The breakfast each morning was very good. And very importantly, the WiFi worked well.

Overall: a nice and clean hotel/apartment with a great vista of the city and lake. They also included delivery of breakfast to our room in the morning before our flight and were accommodating.
That being said, we were a bit disappointed with our stay here due to its location:
1) The hotel is situated high on the mountain which means that the street it is on is unpaved and hard to find - some cab drivers don’t know where it is.
2) Without a car it is hard to go to other places as you have to walk down some stairs and then down a steep unpaved hill with tons of stray dogs who are actually more aggressive than most in the area.
Again if you have a car, then it’s a good option in the area.

I think this is a nice small apartment hotel and my only complaint is related to the value. With frequent travel I am comparing my experience not only to other places all over Argentina but also to expensive US cities and european cities. The apartment was complete and clean with partial views to the lake. However there were little things like the toilet seat was broken. It was usable but a nice hotel in the US that charges this much would take pride in the property to make sure everything was taken care of before the next guest arrived. It is true that you need a car for this location, it isn't a easy walk to the lake, cafe's or restaurants. The bottom line is, I use and trust tripadvisor very much and when a property is top 10 I have high expectations of it, especially when I am spending a lot of money. I think this is a nice property but I don't think it belongs in the top 10 on tripadvisor.

I simply cannot believe this place is so highly rated. A hotel should be rated based on what they offer for the price they charge. Lets start saying the hotel is fine, overall clean, and yes with a nice view. Lets continue saying it charges 300 dollars a night (that is no little money, particularly in Argentina).
The hotel is apart hotel, it is located in a neighborhood far from downtown, although it is quiet, it is not "in the woods" just in a regular neighborhood, and it is quite hard to get there (up hill, gravel road). There is absolutely nothing useful around it (no shops, cafes, nothing) just old houses and street dogs.
The views are nice (if oyu get the front rooms), but so are the views of the 100 or so hotels all by the lake on Bustillo road.
After 10PM nobody is left int he reception and you cant contact anybody no matter what you need.
The rooms are OK, but not of the quality they charge, VERY thin mattresses and VERY thin pillows, ended up with backaches after 2 nights. The heater does not work well, you cant regulate the temperature and it gets really hot, or cold.
Breakfast is OK, but not great and very variable (we would get sometimes 2 yogurts, despite being 4, some times fruit, sometimes not), nothing to get excited about.
As I said, it is more like apartment no hotel, there not a single place to have coffee or so, the pool is TINY (although looks bigger in pictures) and if it is raining (like it happened to us) you get wet wherever you move in the building (if you want to go to the pool or reception) since it is all open space halls.
People are courteous and polite.
In summary, decent place, but by no meanings worth the cost of what they charge, many other better options in Bariloche. I would not recommend this place and I would not come back.

Estimate: thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Let me correct you some opinions you do because several things you say are not true: Our apart- hotel is located 10 minutes from downtown, (information you can check BEFORE taking the decision of boking with us). We are located in a quiet neighborhood. Our reception is open from 8 a.m to 10:00 p.m. . After that time we leave an open line available for any need , so is not true what you say "you can't contact anybody no matter what you need . " there is always someone from our staff available. All our beds have quality spring mattresses . We also have different types of pillows , but it is impossible for us to know if you sleep uncomfortable if you don't let us know it.( we did not receive any comments from you throughout your stay about this matter ) . All our apartments have individual temperature regulator, allowing our guests to adjust the temperature as needed. Our breakfast is served at the apartment at the desired time and consists of : Coffee, milk, orange juice, croissants , two types of bread ,butter, ham and cheese , homemade jams, yoghurts and cereals and we have no problem in serving more quantity of product that the guest request. we serve every day the same breakfast, without removing any items. Our pool has a size of 3 x 8 meters, We regret that your experience on our aparts have been normal , but let me correct you that we are FAR from being a "ripoff" . We can make mistakes like everyone else but we don't cheat anybody. We work hard every day to give a good service to our guests. attentively Juan Pedro Perez, Catalonia Sur Aparts-Spa

As our taxi drove us through Bariloche and continued for several kilometers, then proceeded along a bumpy dirt road, we became very concerned. But as we approached Catalonia Sur, the view opened up to take in the lake and the mountains. This was what we would wake up to every day for the next four days. The apartment was perfect, with two nice sized bedrooms and a large dining/family room (and breakfast was delivered every morning!). Juan gave us advice and helped us arrange anything we needed. As a previous reviewed said, no request was too big. We didn't have a car when we arrived and it became clear that it was necessary, so Juan arranged for us to get one from a company that would bring it to us and let us return it to the airport, saving us the trouble of getting a taxi for the rest of our time there. I would definitely stay at Catalonia Sur again if we returned to Bariloche.

We recently spent 5 nights at this wonderful apartment hotel. The amazing views and breakfast delivered to our room were just the beginning. What set this place apart from the rest was the extraordinary personal service provided by Juan, the hotel manager. From booking our hire car, to sitting down with maps making suggestions on things to do, to sorting out a flight cancellation (for us non spanish speaking Australians) until 1.00am nothing was too much trouble. We can't recommend this place too highly. Oh, and be sure to check out the million dollar view from the heated indoor/outdoor pool.

Stayed there for 3 days with family (6 adults and 2 kids) and we had a great time. The views from the rooms are amazing; unobstructed view of the lake and the trees from the balcony (not to mention the small eagles that are constantly flying around).
The rooms are big, spacious and very clean; the breakfast is delicious. We had two rooms, one had a tub and the other a very modern shower (with several jets of water). The pool is very nice, the kids loved it; it's an indoor/outdoor pool so you use it regardless of the weather.
The attention from Tania and Juan is really good, they are always willing to help (e.g. book a taxi) and give advice if you need it. Tania even prepared some sandwiches for the kids when we left the hotel for our next destination.
We forgot some jewellery at the hotel (a wedding ring and a bracelet) and Juan sent it to us to our hotel in Buenos Aires. If we needed further proof that they really care about their guests, well, that was it!
The hotel is 4-5 kms from town, but it's a very easy trip, probably 5-10 mins by taxi (around 25 pesos). It's worth staying out-of-town, as you really feel in contact with the nature (the lake is 10 mins walking downhill).
In conclusion, we all had a great stay at the Catalonia Sur and we hope we can be back there one day!

Hola Alejandro! SÃ, hay una parrila que es de uso común para todos los huéspedes (no suele ser muy utilizada).
We are at almost 8 km formt center, so it is not possible to get ther by walking. Is like 15 minutes by car. We allways recommend our guests to rent a car if it's possible, or use taxis. There is also a bus stop at 500 m from the hotel, but the way buck is uphill.
Hi Michael. Top View apartments have one bedroom with queen size bed, but we can place an aditional twin bed on the room or in the living room. Superior and Deluxe apartments have two bedrooms. Please send us an e-mail so we can give you more information.
