Charming Luxury Lodge & Private Spa, built on the bluff of a cliff, delights with panoramic vistas of Lake Nahuel Huapi and the Andes mountains range. The lodge's wood and stone work is reminiscent of a small alpine village. The large balconies of each residence and suite are suspended over the bluff. Just below, the waves crash upon Playa Bonita and the sides of the cliff. The hotel's interior is just as unique. Total comfort is offered in the Private Spas that form part of each suite. One can choose between a dry sauna, a double jacuzzi with ozonetherapy and an LCD TV, a scottish shower, and a finnish shower with aromacolor therapy. Each of these options are integrated into each suite, allowing the guest total control over his or her relaxation. Charming is a place designed to astonish its guests with its beauty, luxury, tranquility, comfort, unforgettable views, and amiable service.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.

The Charming Luxury Lodge & Private Spa garners praise for its well-appointed rooms, complete with private spa features like saunas and steam showers, which many guests find delightful. Travelers consistently commend the attentive and personalized service provided by the friendly staff.
While the hotel's luxurious atmosphere and amenities are popular, including private spas and whirlpool baths with breathtaking views, some reviewers point out a disparity between the plastic furnishings and the lodge's upscale image. Although opinions on value are mixed, with a few noting pricing inconsistencies, the cleanliness and overall experience often earn high marks from visitors.

Charming is a truly unique property consisting of five chalets with exposed beams spread over a manicured hillside overlooking a stunning lake. Each chalet has two or more rooms or apartments. Our room had a kitchenette and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub for two, a sauna and a shower room which doubles as a steam room. The room itself was a generous size, had a fireplace and a large closet. The floors and towel rack are all heated and there’s a heat pump for heating and cooling. It made the room extremely comfortable especially on cold mornings. We had a private balcony overlooking the lake and the snow capped mountains in the distance. Breakfast is served in the main building and provides a large selection of anything you could want.
The hotel is located about a fifteen minute drive outside of Bariloche town in an area with a large selection of restaurants and grocery stores.
Managers Andrea and Augustin were always around and accessible for information and to cater to any request. They were both personable and caring and their presence greatly enhanced our stay.
I can’t imagine a more unique or comfortable property. I think it’s the only place to stay when in Patagonia.

Arrived to a warm welcome, our bags were taken to our room so we could enjoy a Lakeview lunch. Always a great start to a trip! The food is delicious! Our room was charming with an unbelievably beautiful view of snow-capped mountains and the lake. The hotel helped arrange airport transfers, local tours and dinner reservations. When your travels bring you to Bariloche, this should be your first choice for accommodations.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I've been to virtually every hotel in Bariloche, and I can safely say that this is the one I've enjoyed the most. Although the installations are beautifully cozy, the materials are high-quality, and the luxury of having a private spa within the room makes this hotel one of my absolute favorite ones, what stood out to me the most is how this hotel goes out of its way to make your experience a 5-star one.
From the moment I walked in they greeted me with a complimentary drink and I was warmly greeted by the waiter. Then, the staff proceeded to explain the functions of the spa, introducing a wonderful box of amenities (various essence oils and slippers were a pleasant surprise). Whenever you wish to go to the pool, which is open until midnight and remains truly warm, they take the towels to the area themselves, and even can get the sauna running for you if it's particularly chilly.
In the room, you get a fireplace and the wood is completely free of charge, as much as you may need, something you hardly see in hotels these days. When I asked for delivery they brought it straight to my door without me even having to let them know in advance. They also don't charge you for the cleanup of the dishes. To crown it all, they extended my check-out time without charging, either. A true class act.
Breakfast was incredibly varied, fresh and delicious, and they gave me a large tray to take to my room even though it's a buffet, which allowed me to continue enjoying my room, which had a lovely balcony with a stunning view.
Lastly, I would like to remark Natalia's attention, whose warm predisposition makes you feel instantly at home and allows you to interact with the staff and the installation with the utmost freedom, truly feeling your needs and wishes are being anticipated.
I will most certainly return, and they deserve every single award that they proudly display at the entrance.

This was our second visit to Charming. We came for a week last year and for eight days this year. What makes Charming different? You can find other beautiful hotels in San Carlos de Bariloche, though it would be hard to beat the meticulously designed room interior, the sauna, the shower that makes you feel like you are outside showering in the mountain rocks. You can certainly get another hotel where the lake and the mountains and the beauty astound you each time you look out your window. But the warmth and caring that Alejandra and Camilla and all the Charming staff give you is another thing. Travel to an unfamiliar country can be overwhelming, but this staff makes sure that your experience is perfection. You can email them as you plan your trip and have questions. You can ask their guidance while you are there. They make you feel you are part of the Charming family. We will be back.

The first room I was given felt like living in a glass house. The spa experience is marred if one has to block all views with drapes to achieve privacy. The great staff, however, moved me to a different room the following day, 18, which I could have stayed in forever… Breakfast is exquisite rather than lavish, with eggs of choice made to perfection. Not much immediately around the hotel, but pizza, empanadas, drugstore and supermarket about 1km away.

One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been to. The individual 'cabin like' rooms are incredible, with stunning views, and a comfortable patio type area to be able to enjoy the outdoor air. The bathrooms have great sauna type features, the room is clean, and there are small details such as identifying each traveler uniquely by flags. The staff is welcoming and helpful. I will definitely return.

I stayed at The Charming Lodge for rest and recovery after a 100k race — and I’m so glad that I did! I had an amazing stay; everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place, and I hope I can return soon!
The staff are absolutely incredible. I always felt welcomed when I interacted with them. They’re very knowledgeable and accommodating, and they genuinely cared about me enjoying my stay. Alejandra remembered my name and greeted me each time she saw me — I really valued that!
Charming is located on the lake and the views are stunning. I loved watching the sun rise and set over the mountains from my room and from the restaurant.
I stayed in the Deluxe Suite and it had everything I needed. I especially loved the two person jet tub with the complimentary bath salts. The room has many windows so you can look out at the lake, and I loved waking up to the sunrise each day. There’s also blinds and curtains that totally block out the sun if you prefer to sleep in the dark.
Breakfast was wonderful! They serve coffee, tea, incredible pastries, fruits, toast, jams, meats, cheeses, yogurt, and more. You can also order egg dishes. I had an omelette the last day and it was incredible. My favorite thing was the scones. I ate them every morning, and I’m definitely missing them now!
I ate lunch and dinner at the Stag. Wow! So delicious! Everything was so flavorful and, again, the views were awesome.
I spent time at the pool and lake, and it was just so much fun. The pool is heated so it’s perfect for a chillier day and the lake is nice and cold for when the temperatures rise.
There’s also some restaurants nearby and a cool library/cafe next door. I personally loved that the hotel is outside of the city center. It’s really easy to get an Uber here and they’re cheap. So, if you’re worried about being further from the center, I’d personally say it’s worth it.
Thank you to all of the Charming Lodge staff for such a wonderful stay in Bariloche!

First of all, I never write reviews of the places I visit, but they wrote to my husband about this place so that when he does give his review, they respond that the only thing he was looking for is financial compensation. We arrived at the establishment on a Thursday afternoon and on Sunday at noon we left (less than 3 days), at which time the receptionist quickly explained to us the operation of the dry sauna, wet sauna and jacuzzi in the room. The dry sauna did not work so I felt frustrated, I thought I had not understood the instructions and at night when I left the room I informed the receptionist, she told me that when I wanted to use it I should let her know first and she would explain to me again Friday afternoon when I return from our excursions I call to have them show me how to use it, the thing is that it didn't work, maintenance came, they dismantled the electric keyboard and went to buy the spare part for the sauna, after two hours without having power and Waiting for the maintenance person, I'm going to find out, they tell me that it can't be fixed, someone from the hotel was going to contact me, I ask them to please fix the board. Nobody contacted me and at night I asked if they had given me a room with a sauna, the least I expected was for it to work, they told me they were going to let me know. Saturday morning (one day before retiring) and when we were going on an excursion they offered us to change rooms to which we said no because we had to move all our things The only thing we wanted was to be refunded the difference between the rate of a room with a spa and one without a spa since the dry sauna never worked and they apologized for several hours of our short stay and not a financial compensation, that is what the The hotel did not have high occupancy, as they said, there were not many people in the hotel and they could take a little more care of their guests. I also highlight that the heating did not work the first night we had to cover ourselves with towels (according to them it was regulated automatically) and for the second night we had to ask for additional blankets, my husband went to the gym and found 3 cleaning people lying there sleeping and they are not there lying I also highlight that he was not going to write any criticism, he wrote them an email after finishing our stay that they never answered and then he received a communication if he could please rate his stay I write all this so that readers can draw their own conclusions.

We stayed in the luxury suite which is the second best. It has a fireplace, bathtub, dry and wet sauna in the room overlooking the lake. There is a small fireplace too. Small kitchen with pans, kettle and coffee maker. The bed is wonderful, King and the pillows are great. The breakfast is also very good. The options that are not available, you order right away and they make it, like the eggs.
We had dinner at the hotel and the food was very good. Prices are a little higher than in the center, but it's not worth going out to dinner in the center because the food is good and the center is far away.
We were very well attended to by Daniel (reception) and Micaela (restaurant). Very polite and helpful.
The experience was wonderful!

In my opinion this was a good hotel from 20 years ago. With plenty of details to improve. The truth is I expected more. There were many details to comment on. Not only the fact that its main added value is the private spa (it says so in the name of the hotel), this service never worked. They didn't even have the courtesy to honor the rate of a room without a private spa, which was what they gave me. From the day I arrived (Thursday the 14th) I informed them that the spa was not working, and they wanted to change my room when there was less than a day left for my check out. But not only that, the heating in the room didn't work either and I had to ask for 2 blankets. We were never able to turn on the TV. I go to the pool and there are no towels, I go to look for them at the gym and I find 3!! employees sleeping on the floor! Anyway, there are many things, and several details like the ones I attached photos of which lack maintenance. I was taking this option or other hotels with similar rates and I regret not having chosen another place
