I stayed several nights at El Portal Suites as this hotel is often used by tour groups climbing Aconcagua. The location is very good, close to the main square and shopping area. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Some have their own balcony with a nice view of the park. Breakfast is not too impressive, but you can order eggs separately...

Room size was amazing. Rooms were clean and modern. Good location. Staff was nice and helpful - but a little pushy with tour sales. When we stayed, there was loud drilling in the place all day long. We didn't like that much, but realized that, hopefully, it was just temporary.

A great location and a nice facade. The staff are friendly and helpful but sadly the rooms are dated and the Wifi is not accessible from the room. The room I had was large but the carpet was loose and in general it seemed as I said, dated. The bathroom was clean as was the kitchenette. It seems to be...

During my romp around Argentina I am currently staying in Mendoza at the El Portal Suites. Very boutiquish and nice but a couple of small negatives. First the positives... the people at the front desk went and are going out of their way to make me feel at home. They speak pretty good English and have been super helpful in...

The 2 nights we stayed here were set up by Grajales expeditions before going to Aconcagua to climb. I will give the positives first: The "suite" consisted of a kitchen (one burner, a small fridge, a sink, a teapot, plates and cups--nothing to cook with), 2 rooms with 3 beds (we are a family of 3), and a bathroom that...

If you're looking for a kitchenette, dining area, etc. then this is your place. These large suites are best for staging expeditions for climbing and hiking, where there's room for gear. We were looking for more character, and while very clean, the breakfast was mediocre and spare, and so was the hotel in general.

Booked the hotel because of the rating and didn't read the comments which was a mistake.breakfast is poor, hotel very noisy as you can hear the chairs searching above you and the kindergarten next door.we found some hair- in our bed as in the bathroom.i guess they are cheating with the rating, because this hotel can't have this great rating!

We stayed here on the front-end and tail-end of an Aconcagua climb and could not have been happier. It is clean, well-appointed and conveniently located. It was nice having the downtown and supermarket just a few blocks away and the park across the street. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. In fact, the gentleman working the desk at...

Bed uncomfortable, street noise made sleeping almost impossible. No hand towel or washcloths so had to keep using the bath towel. Room stank of sewage and when we asked to be relocated we were rebuffed by staff. Low quality breakfast. We left a night early to salvage our trip to Mendoza despite the fact that we were billed for that...

This lovely clean, spacious, comfortable suite hotel is perfectly located in Mendoza, overlooking one of the park squares. It's a short walk from most attractions, and the staff were brilliant; well informed, very friendly and welcoming. You can book any tourist trip at the front desk with no problems. Take a bottle of local wine up to the terrace on...

“Go a little higher for a nice view. I was on the second floor (piso 1), and had an obstructed view. I perhaps heard more street noise, but not bad. Being on a lower floor makes taking the stairs a preferred option to the small elevators, though.”
