Detailed Reviews
We loved this hotel. Very clean and upscale. The rooms were interesting and gave a flavor of Argentina without being the "local Holiday inn" by any means. Our room came with a carpet on the floor (throw rug) that had the steps of the tango dance shown on it. Very cool. We were able to leave our bags early, go explore a bit, and come back to check in, and likewise, left the bags on the last day, went out to the Teatre Colon and the Women's Bridge, and returned for our transfer to the airport. The staff is wonderful and Engilsh-speaking, and were kind enough to lend us an adapter for the wall, as we needed the kind with three little horizontal plugs, 2 of them at angles to each other. The rooms are air conditioned for those hot summer days, and there is an elevator. There is a nice included breakfast in the dining area. The hotel is centrally located, and we walked to many sites in the area wihtout difficulty. The hotel is just a few blocks away from the famous "Ninth of July" boulevard, and has many options in the area for good Argentinian dinners. Taxis were easy to hail as well for the further-away sites we visited but be prepared to pay the taxi drivers in Arg. Peso (rarely took credit cards or US dollars). . Tours you might book will come to this hotel to pick you up and drop you off (but check details of the tours to be sure). We would stay here again if we were to come back to Buenos Aires.

The hotel is in the heart of the city and literally next door to Palacio Barolo.
Room was small but bathroom was spacious. Both were confortable and very clean!
WiFi worked very good too.
Breakfast was excellent, and they even do expresso or latte coffees at the moment.
They have a very nice rooftop bar (Dome) where locals go to (hotel’s front desk need to let people in) and it’s a very nice bar with great view (see photos). When you check in they give you a ticket for complimentary drink.
They have laundry service but it’s very expensive. There’s a DIY laundry at 2-minute walking distance that is way cheaper and won’t take too much time off your day.

This beautifully furnished hotel is a short walk from Plaza de Mayo and from Teatro Colon, completely safe area. Best of all it's right by a stop on the Subte line; fares are about 30 cents USD. We got all over town by Subte. The hotel has a bountiful free breakfast; the restaurant is open all day for lunch, snacks, dinner. The reception staff were very helpful answering questions, printing tickets, etc. They have a lovely rooftop (6th floor) bar.

We stayed for three nights just before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay before joining our ship for a cruise. The hotel is delightfully quaint with large, high ceiling rooms and good sized bathrooms. The staff were really friendly and helpful, booking taxis for us and recommending excellent local restaurants. Nearly everyone spoke good English. The roof top bar was an unexpected find and very comfortable. Breakfast in the downstairs main restaurant had a wide range of food on offer and extremely good coffee. A very good, small hotel centrally located.

+1
We needed a hotel in Buenos Aires before our cruise and Hotel Tango de Mayo was suggested by another person going on the cruise, so we thought we'd give it a try. From the first time we contacted them we knew it would be a good place for us. They answered all our questions quickly. When we asked about transportation from the airport they said they could arrange that - it was a very reasonably priced ride from the airport to the hotel.
We arrived at the Hotel about 10 AM and they stored our luggage while we went out to explore the city. When we came back about 1 PM, our room was ready.
The hotel is within walking distance to many downtown things in Buenos Aires and is in a very safe area.
The front desk staff was very helpful and spoke great English.
Our room was very large and comfortable. There was good WiFi throughout the hotel. Don't miss the patio/bar up on the roof - wonderful views.
Breakfast was plentiful with many good choices.
If you're looking for a small hotel in Buenos Aires near many things, we think you won't go wrong staying at Hotel Tango de Mayo. Our only regret - not being able to stay longer. Enjoy!

So first of all, I booked this room based off other reviews. It was nice, Hotel is in a great location off the Subte near the Saenz train station or Lima Station off 9 de Julio. We were in town a few days before a cruise. The first room was musty and needed a total duct cleaning as well as the spider web on the ceiling. The second room was great. The hotel is old and that is its charm. The staff was amazing and accommodated our significant allergies that first room was making my travel companion have a severe headache. I do travel with an air purifier so it helps somewhat. The food was decent and filling and the hotel recommended a restaurant that was awesome. Chillinquin (spelling) the rooftop staff were awesome and the terrace was nice and the drinks reasonable. The hotel's location is awesome 1 subway ride (4-5 stops) from Plaza de Mayo, a 10 minute walk to the Obelisk and along Corrientes about 5 minutes walk is every restaurant or cafe you could want. The hotel is near the Congress of Argentina. Bed was comfy, bathroom clean and spacious. Only real issue is that the walls have been scuffed throughout by suitcases and perhaps a fresh coat of paint would go a long way to make this feel as if the little things were looked after. I'd suggest satin paint so you can scrub the marks off.

Stayed here 5 nights in total and found it to be a great hotel in an easily accessible area. The hotel stored our bags when we visited Tigre for the night. We were allocated 2 different rooms one before Tigre and a different one on return .They were both lovely rooms. Communication with the hotel before the booking was very easy and emails were answerd promptly. The rrof top bar has great views but is only open occasionally. It was open one night during our stay tho you can take drinks up there from the bar.

The staff here are very pleasant, the colorful walls and feeling of the whole place is warm and inviting. Food in the dining room is delicious; and breakfast is quite varied. For sure, try the medialunas--YUM! Internet was acceptably fast.

We arrived at the hotel after an overnight flight from London. On arrival, greeted by staff and found that our room 102 was ready for us. The room was really good, pleasantly surprised at the size and facilities in the room. It was very clean. The room overlooked the front of the building over Main Street.
We went to the rooftop bar for a drink to find it was Happy Hour, the bar staff were very friendly and very willing to make conversation with us in good English.
Breakfast in the morning was buffet with a good choice of hot and cold selection.
Due to early arrival of taxi I left medication on table in room. I realised and emailed them and found that housekeeping had found them and they were held in Reception for me to collect a few days later.
The hotel is a little away from the more central part of the city. There are some nice little cafes in the area.
The only negative comment I can make was the noise outside the hotel from some young girls who continually shouted and screamed and banging on bins etc which woke us in the early hours. No fault of the hotel but if a light sleeper the noise at the front could disturb you.
Overall would I stay again, yes.

I just don't understand all of the other reviews for this hotel. I feel like its was completely hit or miss with the hotel staff and the room was not nearly large enough for 2 people given how long we had planned to stay. We got a queen room that's literally a bed and a bathroom (o fan or soundproofing). I'm not sure where to even put my bag even with the fold-up holder.
I was turned away from the gym for a private event (after the front desk staff said it was open) and the room service was the worst I've had in my life. I've never had a worse meal in general. I got fish and mashed beets that were brown and nothing was seasoned so it just tasted overcooked and fishy..
Don't get me started on the "soundproof" room, I might as well have been sleeping in the street.
The prices here certainly warrant this sort of service, stay or dining. I tried to check out early to get an airbnb without luck..
The best thing here were the photos of the hotel because I totally got catfished.
I don't recommend this hotel, just get an airbnb for double the space and half the price.

Agree with Travel Passion’s helpful reply.
Yes they offered airport shuttle but you had to pay the driver, it was not covered by the hotel. All they did was arrange it for you with their drivers. Uber would work just as well.
we stayed in this gorgeous hotel for 9 nights. once you arrive at the airport before you excite the building you will find several taxi companies. we took the first one called WORLD CAR great service, you pay to the company $44 and the taxi will take you to the hotel. they also give you 20% discount on the way back to the airport. would strongly recomend it. we used it both ways.
The staff doesn't seem to be too involved with their website.
