Having left it to our TA to book a full package for our holiday, it was a surprise to find we had been booked in at the Reino Del Plata, a hotel we had stayed at on our last visit 5 years ago. Arriving at 8am after an overnight flight from Europe we didn't give much hope to our room...

Somewhat disappointed with this hotel which has a great location . The bedrooms were small dull and depressing, the bathroom functional but the towels had more holes than area to dry yourself . Breakfast was not good offering basic food but coffee was hot. Whilst we were in the city for 4 days there were demonstrations and marches which made...

Old, dirty, in need of updating. Our toilet flooded all over the bathroom floor and the hotel staff did not seem to care but did offer us more towels so we could clean it up! They only provided us with pillows for one person as they had mistaken the booking for one, not two. When we asked for more, they...

I have stayed in several hotels during our stay in Buenos Aires and this is by far the worst. We were sold a "double room" that was clearly a single; towels and pillars for one and when asked for more was told the hotel didn't have any pillows! To make it worse, the toilet leaked water into the bathroom, leaving...

We stayed for 2 nights before going on a cruise through Forever Cruises who we have complained to about the standard of this hotel. The hotel needs a comple refurbish, everything about it is tired!! We had an aircon unit that left a pool off water on the floor, the desk staff reluctantly agreed to have a look, later said...

Stayed here for one night. I think one night is just enough. The rooms are very average and reasonably clean. You get the basics of a TV, a mini bar and a safe. The beds are comfy enough but nothing to write home about. The only real negatives are the breakfasts and the air conditioning. The breakfast contains a simple...

We stayed at the Hotel Reino Del Plata in February 2017 following a cruise from Rio de Janeiro which terminated in Buenos Aires. Arriving before 10am at the hotel, we were checked in by helpful staff on reception and as our rooms were not ready until 2pm, our luggage was stored for us in a locked room. We were handed...

Staff a bit moody and hotel is a quite dated and breakfast is just about ok I suppose. But.. location (moments away from Florida, peru, plaza Del mayo, San telmo and the sube) and price make up for all of those In addition it does have a comfortable big bed and a good powerful shower. What more do you need...

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel recently. It is located centrally but in a noisy, dirty side street. The bedroom and bathroom were far from clean and the bedding stained. The towels in the bathroom were the worst I have ever encountered in a hotel. They were grey, stained and full of holes. Management should be ashamed of themselves! The...

Good location (easy to get lots of places on foot), comfortable and clean room, helpful staff and decent breakfast (including fruit salad). Not luxurious but perfectly good for what we wanted. We would be happy to stay here again.

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
