I stayed here with a friend for 2 nights whilst exploring Buenos Aires earlier this year. This is a really charming little place with a really homely feel. It's very central with most of the city in walking distance. We walked from here to the Graveyard and back, stopping at cafes along the way, within a few hours. The rooms...

Nice guesthouse with friendly owners!! Close to central Buenos Aires and easy access to public transport. Breakfast served daily and comfortable rooms with free wifi. Unfortunately the showers at times lacked any pressure or hot water

A guest house rather than a hotel, Che Telmo provides a clean quiet refuge in the midst of bustling Buenos Aires one block from Plaza de Mayo and tube stations, and an easy walk to the heart of San Telmo. It's like staying at a friend's place. The rooms are adequate and air conditioned and the price is right.

I actually visited this B&B in September 2012. I stayed for one night, and it was the perfect place to rest up before a long flight back to Europe. Mario, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. It helps to be able to speak some Spanish. The kitchen was well-equipped and I could make myself some tea and chat with...

We stayed for 4 nights in BA and managed to see a lot of the city from this great location. Just a couple of minutes walk from the metro/subway, and a couple of minutes past that onto the main strip of Calle Florida. The house itself has a wonderful vintage elevator, nice high ceilings and is very cosy - although...

We spent 4 nights in July 2013 in the Che Telmo guesthouse and we can say that Mario is a friendly host. The apartment is comfortable and we had a good breakfast. There is a kitchen, we didn't use it, but it is well equipped. It is possible to drink tea or infusions every time. The place is also an...

The place is good. The host is very kind, friendly, and very cultured in latin american's social-politic history. The breakfast, served from 9 to 10 am, includes infusions, and delicious croissants. The kitchen is good equiped also. The place is located at the very center of San Telmo, in a safety enugh zone. We are glad to stay there, and...

We were in Bs As for only one night between two flights. So we knew we would not spent much time in the hotel so no point spending much. The place is in the heart of the city so we made the best out of the time we had. Clean and simple, it also gave us an idea of how...

I stayed at the Che Telmo guest house in Janauary 2012. It was my first time travelling on my own and I didn't speak Spanish at the time, so was a little nervous. Mario was so friendly and charming that I felt immediately at ease. A beautiful old building, with a wonderful old lift, the guest house is based in...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
