In early February 2016 I visited Caseron Porteno again for a few hours just to take a private lesson with one of the regular tango teachers. We were only able to use the dance studio once as the business was changing management and things were uncertain. I favourably reviewed this place a year ago on 26 January 2015

The location is not central to the Palermo district, but a good 20 minute walk away. The accommodation is tired, old, shabby and in disrepair. It's not good value for the money I paid via Trip Advisor in advance. Really disappointing having read such good reviews. If you're after a functional place to stay and to do Tango I'm sure...

My daughter and I spent a week in Caserón Porteño, centrally located to all the events we went to Buenos Aires to accomplish: shopping, tango dancing, and site seeing. We had a yoga house two buildings from us that provided healthy vegetarian lunches and a block and a half away, we ordered delicious home-made empanadas. The location was in a...

Lovely old house in a quiet part of BA, close to the domestic airport of Aeroparque. On the borders of Collegiales/Palermo, so less touristy than some. Creaky floorboards and lots of charm! Excellent value.

I enjoyed my stay at Caseron Porteno which felt like home. Thank you for the free tango classes and accompanying us to Milongos. Thank you for helping us navigate the city with personalized maps and even transit passes. Cannot compare with any stay that I have experience in the past. Exceptional!!

Caseron Porteno is a cute bed & breakfast that's centrally located in Buenos Aires. The hospitality is outstanding, making you feel right at home. Terrific tango lessons are offered almost daily, enabling you to take part in the rich Argentinian culture. Rooms are comfortable and staff is friendly. I wish I didn't have to leave! I'll definitely be back!

Caseron Porteno is an extraordinary value for those coming to Buenos Aires. This small hotel is full of charm and character and has a gorgeous internal garden that gives it the feel of being in the country. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel is close to many public transportation possibilities. Daniel, the manager, is an encyclopedia of...

We stayed two nights at Caseron Portneo. The room was nice and relatively spacious, the beds are really comfy. The bathroom was a bit old and quite small. The breakfast is average and could definitely be improved, especially from a place that charges this type of price per night. On the down side, we found the staff very rude and...

I stayed here twice, at the beginning of my trip in South America and at the end of my trip. I was here on the 24th Dec, most places closed early, I bought some food and cooked at the B&B. (Thank you Ameliano for the lovely dinner.) I missed the tango lessons during my stay unfortunately. Metro is 15-20mins walk...

I loved this place, in fact so much that I am going back in a few weeks. It has a more interesting breakfast than the typical one you get elsewhere. The rooms are decorated very tastefully. The staff are friendly, helpful and informative. I haven't tried the tango yet: hence the need to go back.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
