The rooms were nice, no argument. However, the internet was very unreliable across our stay of 10 days. Also, breakfast could have been much better for this size of hotel. Lastly, it's not permitted to have an ironing board in the room - if anything needs ironing, the hotel laundry will be happy to do it for you for 8...

We were traveling with a group of 22 people. We stayed there for 2 nights. Very clean hotel with spacious room and bathroom. I can not make a price/value comparison as the price was included in the overall tour price. The hotel is conviniently located and ıf I return to Buenos Aires I will again choose this hotel.

Loved this hotel. I've stayed at a number of other locations in Buenos Aires, but love this hotel for both its location and amenities. Their breakfast is fantastic and lobby area bar for gathering. Also, the availability to cabs for transfers around the city is very simple. Additionally, there are a number of very good restaurants within easy walking. The...

Overall, we enjoyed our 5 night stay at Emperador. It helped that we got a low pre-Christmas room rate (c. $140/night). Pros: good location for tourism; large, clean rooms and bathrooms; friendly staff; gorgeous quiet garden at back off the lobby, where one can sit and escape the rush of the big city (and have a drink); pleasant English-style bar...

Business hotel, but nice to stay at after a very long flight from top north Norway (Tromsö) and next time after 10 days out in sea. Large and comfy double room both times. Bath room is a dream! My room was at 4th floor, but to see sunset it's probably better to stay as high up in building as possible....

This is a typical flashy businessman's hotel used by people with big expense accounts or deep holiday pockets. We were there as part of a package tour and obviously our tour company was able to get a good deal. There are a number of negatives amongst all the glitz: Our room, whilst beautifully fitted out, had a deeply ingrained smell...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
