The bedrooms are impeccable and the breakfast lounge & service is first class. I love having breakfast looking at the beautiful garden! The hotel is well located. For those that enjoy a run, you can find parks very close by for a nice morning run.

Good quality hotel, well located. Helpful staff. However, a hotel that claims to be a 4-star cannot charge USD 5 for a tiny little bag of instant coffee, and not have an iron and ironing board available for its guests...

Great Location in Recoleta for this classy hotel right next to Avenida 9 de Julio and some nice restaurants underneath the bridge half a block away. Rooms are spacious and decorated in a classical style. Great front office staff and breakfast in the morning overlooking a patio behind the hotel. Recommended.

I arrived at the hotel after 6pm and checked in I was only booked here because of the trip I was booked on. In previous weeks I had been travelling around south america and was robbed twice. First my purse was taken, my money and credit cards. The second time I had just picked up money from Western union this...

I like Buenos Aires and especially the area of Recoleta. Needed a room for a few nights and a friend from BA arranged a room at Emperador. The outside of the building is a bit boring but the inside is breathing style. My room was a junior suite as the rest was fully booked it seemed. Well, lucky me. A...

We waited till arriving in Buenos Aires to have laundry done during a three-night stay at this hotel, and paid a substantial amount ($4 for each pair of men's tightie-whities, for example), although it was finished quickly and folded beautifully. There were no tissues in the room; the breakfast buffet was extensive, fresh and varied, but the extra cost for...

The staff at the hotel, especially the server in the dining room are pleasant and efficient. The hot breakfast is good. All of the staff seemed very accommodating. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are comfortable, and bathrooms are complete and clean. The hotel is in walking distance from a mall, several restaurants, and also ATM's. Unfortunately, the exchange...

We decided to book a two day class at the Emperador hotel when the Hilton (the hotel we were staying at) was too expensive. The Emperador was fantastic. Our meeting room was on the top floor (20th) and had great views of the city plus the hotel is just gorgeous (looks like a boutique hotel). In addition the service was...

Have been in many hotels all over the world including a couple of hotels in Buenos Aires. The Emparador hotel is a nice hotel, spacious rooms, extensive breakfast buffet (seating is cramped!), however be aware that basic amenities are not available or you have to pay for these. Tissues in the room..,you better bring your own. You want to make...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
