We chose this hotel for its close location to the Retiro bus station (from where we were catching a bus to Mendoza the next day). When we arrived in Buenos Aries we caught the Manual Tienda Leon bus into the city. Their terminal is across the park from Retiro, so Loi Suites Arenales is just as handy for that; a...

Excellent location close to stores and restaurant and for business trips. Kind, friendly and helpful staff. Room comfortable with kitchenette. Ideal for long and short stay. The breakfast was good with excellent croissants.

Really lovely hotel. Our room had a kitchenette (which we didn't use), lounge and bedroom. The breakfast area opened onto a courtyard so it was very pleasant. All the staff were helpful. Handy for the sights and a supermarket opposite. Our room did seem just a little 'tired' but it didn't spoil our stay.

It's definitely very well located, within walking distances to attractions and restaurants. The upside doesn't go much further than that. Despite the reasonable room size, mine was really old! Breakfast was in line with BA standards of similar hotels. It also doesn't have a gym in the building and the gym they are affiliated with are as old as the...

Very friendly personnel, awesome location, great breakfast. We were allowed to do early check-in and late check-out, and liked the very friendly personal approach of the receptionist Julio- such a great guy.

Great Location: It's close to museums, restaurants, and shopping. The room was fresh, bright, extremely tasteful in whites and beiges, had a dining area and kitchen, sofa, and ample stone and tile bathroom. Also, the mattress was new, a huge plus. The staff was very helpful and spoke english. Rooms were nice and clean. Overall an excellent experience and some...

Good price mid range hotel with a good location. The bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and spoke English which was great for assistance. The hotel is a little dated and could use a bit of updating with new carpets. Free breakfast was good. Walking distance to many good restaurants...

The only good thing is the location: very convenient and easy to get around. The hotel and its rooms are very old and badly maintained. The rooms are noisy (very loud minibar, elevator noises and you can even hear the neighbour's doorbells) and the carpet flooring does not look very clean. The absolute worst was finding live clothes eating moths...

This is a nice hotel, staff is friendly, breakfast is adequate, rooms are clean and taken care of. But the walls are incredibly thin and plumbing is so loud that I thought there is a group of screaming bats climbing in my walls - but it was just a neighbor taking a shower. You can also hear what people are...

This is a value for money boutique hotel. We had a big clean room with a king size bed and kitchenette attached. Breakie was thrown in with the price. The hotel is in a great location, near the subte and Florida st. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Only minor negative is probably the overly soft bed.

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.

“There is some street noise- probably higher up the building the better (fine on second floor)”
catherinep585, 7 Dec 2014 | Read review
“Our room was on the second or third floor which eliminated much of the street noise. Don't plan on doing much cooking in the room. The appliances were purchased from the Flintstones 50 years ago. Many good restaurants in the area. Carry smaller denominations of cash. (You don't get small denominations from an atm and none of the shops and stores were willing to give change from the equivalent of a $10 bill.) Also many of the smaller places don't accept credit cards. Boca is a great area of Buenos Aires to visit especially on the weekend. But don't get stuck there after dark. Dangerous.”
