Staff was great. Rooms were a little old but OK. If you like quiet rooms, choose a high level or a rear room because there's a bar next door that stays open 24 hours. Tip: Do not pay for breakfast - terrible. :/

Decent hotel in terms of location. we were close to the metro and some of the sights were walking distance which helped. we were originally given a room on the 9th floor but as i could not open the door we got moved to another floor. for two people the room was quite small, but it was fine as we...

Very good value for money. Rooms are clean, although not that spacious. Excellent location, near to train, bus and subway stations. Also close to Florida street for great shopping. Breakfast is acceptable.

It is in the city center of Buenos Aires in walking distance to any important place. Wifi it had only in the lobby, Argentine breakfast with hot and cold shower. The stuff was very gentle and supportive. The doors had propper locks. Walking distance to the RETIRO (Central bus station). I paid about 50 U$ per night with breakfast. (I'll...

I arrived at the hotel after making a pre-paid reservation at the Victory Hotel. They not only did not have a reservation for me, two people had never heard of the booking company (Hotwire.com) through which it had been booked. Then they told me they would give me a room and maybe it would be straightened out. I was tired...

The hotel is real well located, right next to Calle Florida, Galerías Pacífico and San Martin Square. But that is about it. The facilities are fairly old and a revamp wouldn't hurt. Coffee is also simple and staff is short on charisma.

We paid only $40 USD per night and it was excellent value. Free Breakfast includes two croissants (sweet), two pieces of toast (weird American bread) coffee and an orange juice - pretty decent considering it is free, but obviously not the best of anything. Croissants are a highlight. Room is very comfortable, bathroom is clean and refurbished. Good value.

The only good thing is the location. The photos arent really what you got. The breakfast is por. Just a glass of orange juice ( not natural) one piece of toast and two breads. Milk and coffee. The rooms are small and the floor was dirty when i arrived. The tv is old. The bathroom was clean, but they dont...

First the good things: The location is really excellent, you are at walking distance to almost everything and right next to the hotel there is a 24/7 "locutorio" (a little grocery store) so you can buy a snack, a beer, cigarretes, or make a call 3:30am with no problem. The bad things: The wifi SUCKS!, you have to enter the...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
