Did not stay at the hotel but wanted to see it so stopped in at the Lobby Bar for coffee. Wonderful experience! With the gilded opulence surrounding you you might expect stuffiness. Not at all. The waiter was extremely personable and efficient. The coffee service included a pastry sampler tray - memorable in itself. Sitting there it was easy to...

Very nicely located in front of the famous graveyard where Elvita Peron (and a lot of others in nice monuments) is buried. Staff very nice and dedicated. Service close to perfection. The only thing that was missing was a real pool.

It was a clean, nice and friendly hotel. The rooms were neat and the staff were really accommodating, The facility seems new. My only reservation was location. Not as smart as Recoleta - a little more of a business and retail location. Tip - The hotel offers a basic wifi for free and a "premium" option for a fee. There...

I had the lavish brunch here with my family and friends after my sister's wedding - she lives in B.A. There were about 40 of us at a long table. We stayed for hours - maybe about 6. The food was breathtaking - the sheer range, volume and presentation. Individually it was all fresh, tasty and good quality but nothing...

Had 2 single night transit stays in the hotel. Felt very welcome and staff were friendly and helpful. All our interactions with staff were in English as we can unfortunately not speak Spanish, and this was not a problem.

A stunning hotel in a lovely street near a lot of upmarket boutiques and restaurants. The rooms are great, the linen of high quality and it is a very impressive building. My only complaint is that The staff was so professional they come across as cold and absent.

Gorgeous hotel. Immaculately kept. Extremely comfortable. Concierge service took care of our every request. The concierge arranged a Tango Show and dinner at a great steak house. The Alvear Palace Hotel made our Buenos Aires experience complete.

My family lives in Buenos Aires and so I travel there very frequently. Every time I'm there I always make sure to have tea at least once (or often several times) at the Alvear Palace. It truly brings you back to the elegance and grandeur of Buenos Aires in the 1930s. They still use the traditional silver, the elegant china...

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
