At first, I was suppose to stay in Playhostel for a week, but since I was working in Bueno aires, I decided to extend my stay in this hostel for more than a month. Mainly because the appartements in this area weren't affordable and also because I felt at home there! 1) Well located; 2) Price is pretty cheap if...

Based on the good reviews and ratings i booked a private room with bathroom included for 3 nights. To start with the shower did not work as the cold tap was broken and without it it was very hard to take a shower. I was given a room just next to the entrance and to the small patio downstairs where...

A relaxed enviremont with nice staff and great travellers. It is not the cleanest hostel i stayed in, but it is worth the stay. The bathroom facilities are not enough, especially when the hostel is full. The kitchen is good and well equiped. The beds are comfy. And i just loved the paintings on the walls of the hostel. I...

During my South America journey Play Hostel was my first hostel. I'll also remember as one of the best out of 20 more hostels I stayed last 1 1/2 months. Staff are very friendly, supportive and generous. It's close to best night life you can get in BA. Certainly I'll stay again

I'd read loads of good reviews on Play Hostel before selecting it for my first stay (of 4 nights) in Buenos Aires. There are plenty of positive points I can make - friendly, helpful staff, great location in Palermo Soho, great value, decent breakfast, comfortable beds and I'm sure it would suit many people. However, for me, it just wasn't...

As budget backpackers this was a great place to stay, not too expensive and it still had everything we could need. The showers were hot with great pressure, kitchen well equipped, a rooftop balcony, comfortable beds with heaters in the rooms for the cold weather and a tv room. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was...

Location is great, Palermo has lots of nice cafés and bars. The staff were friendly and the place was cleaned quite regularly I found. A lot of the common areas are open to the elements so it can be a bit on the chilly side. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay. Oh, like many hostels, it...

Stayed here whilst backpacking South America. We stayed for two nights in a 6 bed dorm. The staff we super friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was good; fruit, bread, toast, juice, hot drinks etc. The terrace area is really nice! Beds were comfortable and shower was fine. The only things I didn't like were: -...

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Play hostel is at the core of palermo soho, the fastest growing area in the city, and the coolest! Our house is a typical 19th-century buenos aires building, popularly known as "casa chorizo". The house was recycled but keeping its historical value, and we have rooms for two, four and six guests with private and shared bathrooms. The breakfast room and living room were specially designed for reading, listening to music, watching videos, and more! There is an open-air colonial patio to enjoy a cool morning, and a totally furnished kitchen to make you feel at home! ... more   less
